I have yet to watch cobra kai season 6 part 3 but I have to ask, is the ending satisfactory? Does it do the main characters justice?

But seriously haven't they done enough, the leaks, if true(probably are), only show lazy writing, producing a lazy finale.

Mischaracterizing almost all of the characters, an unnecessary SA plot line (especially since they most likely won't adress it), trying to convince me that some scenes happened when they didn't.

if one of the two ships or even both are not endgame, where do we go form here? Like no romance? I wouldn't mind it, but that means that all of those ship related scenes in the past seasons meant nothing? ( just like robby's scene about him being no. 2 always and how he hates it, will probably mean nothing,sorry I just can't get over how bad that was. )

Cobra kai season 6 part 3 leaks up ahead

So, uhhh I saw a leaked picture on YouTube of all places of the score, it was miguel vs axel..

So uh? What happened to robby..?

No seriously according to almost everyone working on this show, the finale will tie everything, every character will get somewhat of a closure, but at this point I really can't see a closure for robby's character.

They set up these scenes where he is mad about being number two just to knock him out of the charts, not even number two anymore if he loses to axel. He is not even a player at this point.

According to the leak I saw, miguel is leading with 27 - 7 against axel,which means that he probably knocked him out.

Which is wild!

And for all the miguel fans, I know he is amazing and probably the best fighter and deserves to win the sekai taikai and all that, but my point of concern is how they will end robby's story.

A boy who basically has no future beyond this point, a boy whose last chance at something is the sekai taikai. I can't see how Robby gets a good ending if all the roads they have given him are being cut off.

I actually don't how they made him cheat? Like damn that is one hell of a stupid way to ruin a relationship, I swear, do these writers know any other ways to ruin relationships other than cheating.

honestly the more i think about it, the more i realize that demetri cheating was never about being ooc or not, it was just stupid to ruin a good relationship. most of the binary bfs shippers were prob happy, but within canon it just made no sense, turned demetri from a likable bitch, into a dislikable bitch bc there is no excusing cheating in my books. it’s like the show wanted us to hate demetri by making him a cheater and having him yap about MIT 24/7. nice try writers, but i ignore stupid things (DEMETRI CHEATING) in canon

So um, it is confirmed that they make them wear different clothes they won't actually be wearing in the show, 🙂🙂🙂.

So at this point any leak we got with the actors wearing clothes for other dojos could be fake or real with no way to determine the degree of which is it.

I swear the creators are just messing with us at this point.

So according to leaks I saw, which I hope is not true

Sam doesn't fight, why I don't fucking know, a character who is so passionate about Karate, not fighting? Why?

Robby breaks his knee or gets injured in general .., my boy can't catch a fucking break.

At this point I may watch pt.3 then pretend that is not canon just like I did with the atla comics.

Also there is this pic that the leaker posted to back up that robby is injured, but the person is wearing a cobra kai gi so.., I read somewhere that they had them wear different gis during filming sometimes to confuse the people who see leaks but I dot think that is true, seems like too much work.

Just hope robby beats the injury allegations because it would be such a bitch move from the writers to treat him so dirty like this.

if some fans can justify why tory slashed sam's arm and say the brawl was all for her cheating, then why (in this essay) have we not seen worse energy thrown at zara, who deserves the absolute most for being a rapist.

This!!!! I just hope they're saving it for the final fight. I want to see Tory aggressive, rapists don't deserve any kind of mercy.

Although unfortunately I feel that they (writers) will not even recognize it as sexual assault.

I know for a fact that nobody minds Miguel being better as long as it is not at the expense of robby,which is exactly what they are doing .

My thoughts on S6 Part 2 (Part 1 🤣)

Well it’s been a MINUTE but I am back after the release of S6 part 2. AND BOY do I have some thoughts which I will be discussing more and more over time. So here are some of my problems with the latest part, some of which centre around Robby as well as some that don’t. Also *DISCUSSION OF POTENTIAL SPOILERS AND LEAKS FOR PART 3 AHEAD*

- A major issue for me was Robby getting straight up SA’d which was completely glossed over and honestly I’m appalled. It’s not confirmed that Robby and Zara slept together but the implication is there. Robby was blackout drunk and therefore could not give consent and Zara took advantage of him. This isn’t the first instance of SA that has occurred on this show and the throw away nature with which this issue is treated is an irresponsible failure on the writers’ part.

- The writers didn’t truly give Robby his moment to shine. If part 3 is going to be Miguel’s and he’s going to win the Sekai Taikai which is looking pretty inevitable at this point due to some of the supposed leaks, part 2 should have been definitively Robby’s. But no. Naturally when something good happens in Robby’s life like him winning the ST captaincy fight, it is short lived and often snatched away from him just as quickly. I didn’t necessarily mind Robby struggling at first due to Tory switching sides. However the writers pushed it to the point of complete overkill. They kept lazily repeating the same old character beat that we saw in season 4- Robby gaining the upper hand before getting distracted and losing. That got old and boring real fast. Add to that Robby’s moment once again being overshadowed by Miguel performing well. They gave Robby ONE good fight in part 2 and even that went on to be immediately overshadowed and borderline discredited by his match with Axel. Long story short, I could nearly make my peace with Miguel winning in part 3 if the whole reason they’re competing in the finals in the first place is Robby. But if anything, Miguel shone more than Robby in part 2 and this will likely continue in part 3.

- Kwon’s death was no more than pure shock value and lazy writing. You could argue that Kwon’s death is a pivotal moment and a wake up call for the likes of Kreese and silver. Look at what happens when you take rivalries too far and corrupt teenagers. That is no doubt what the writers will frame it as. I just think it was too much and for what? The real reason the killed Kwon off is because of his rivalry with Robby. Part 2 was very obviously setting up Miguel and Axel’s rivalry which will be a big focus in part 3. Meanwhile Robby and Kwon’s rivalry was actually being fleshed out very nicely in part 2. Then, just as that rivalry was starting to really heat up and get really intriguing- they killed off Kwon. It’s fairly obvious that this is so they can give full attention to Miguel and Axel’s rivalry in part 3 without having to worry about further fleshing out Robby and Kwon’s rivalry. That would just be too much for them. In addition, Kwon’s death will facilitate Miguel’s ascension to captain. Johnny will retake Cobra Kai with Miguel as captain now that Kwon and the Korean Cobra Kai are out of the way. Johnny will do this with support of Kreese given that Johnny jumped in to save him and given that Kreese will have a change of heart due to Kwon’s death. Kwon’s death is a lazy end to his rivalry with Robby and a means of yet again facilitating Miguel at Robby’s expense.

- I actually quite like the idea of Miguel and Axel’s rivalry. I was excited to see that Miguel and Robby would be given new rivals (RIP to Robby’s though oh well). I just think that the way this rivalry came about was so forced and yet again lazy writing. Surely they can think of some way to give Miguel a rivalry without it always being over Sam? Why not just have him and Axel kind of single each other out and see each other as their main competition. I just wasn’t buying Axel having such an extreme vendetta against Miguel for…….. already dating Sam? A girl Axel has spoken to once and barely knows and now he’s acting like he’s borderline in love with her after one encounter. And I get it, Axel is being abused by his sensei and probably isn’t too used to positive attention but even so, again he hardly knows Sam. It’s just such an extreme reaction and in my opinion not really that believable.

I am trying my best to believe but the more I think the more I realise how the writers will disappoint.

For now the only think I can do is hope that they won't..

There’s probably going to be some down time at the beginning of part 3 before the story picks up speed again, so hopefully Robby will have some time to be able to talk to Tory (or anyone) about what happened with Zara because we cannot end the show with Tory believing Robby cheated and Robby having even more trauma that he has to keep inside

Robby saying this to tory only for him not to win would be so sad, like honestly it makes me so mad and sad that my boy put his all into this, tried his best, lifted the team's spirit up.Won against kwon in one of the best fights in the sekai taikai.

Only for them to make him lose or worse injured according to some sources, all just to set up the scene for miguel.

Miguel still has a future even if he doesn't win the sekai taikai, but robby, it was repeated time and time again that this is his last chance, he may not have a future after this, and god knows what he will do after the sekai taikai especially if he doesn't win.

I did a poll on if people think Robby will win and until now it seems like people are saying yes, the fans are not opposed to robby winning, if robby won it would not be surprising or unrealistic because he worked so hard and cam so far during these past seasons.

I just hope that all of these leaks are fake or just you know the writers or people messing with us.

And I love miguel he is amazing, but is putting robby down really necessary?

To the point where Johnny seems to care about miguel more than his own son?

I know Johnny is trying but him saying in the plane that he thought robby needed more support even though he didn't support robby once weird, did he mistake robby for Devon? Because this past season he has been supporting Devon more than he ever supported robby.

And yes Devon needed him and he was definitely right to support her, but he could have also supported robby at the same time.

We all saw robby win the fight for the right of being captain fair and square, he didn't cheat and miguel was not injured or out of focus, no both were perfectly fine.

Yet the team is acting like robby stole the spot of captain or something.

And then you have spoilers saying he is not winning (which I hope is not true).

Robby deserves much better than this.

They built his character up so well, only for them to humiliate him, make him seem incompetent, that he should not have been captain, all to make miguel seem better?

I don't mind miguel being better, but it doesn't have to be on the expense of robby.

And don't get me started on the zara raping robby because that was so unnecessary and horrible he truly didn't deserve it and the way they made it seem like he was cheating on tory, no he did not!

there have people "leaking" part 3 spoilers for several months now in leak threads on reddit. want to believe so many are fake but there seem to be repeated points like how sam quits karate and ofc the stuff with robby and miguel. sounds so hacky but since so many of the part 2 ones proved true we're really on the way to a big dumpsterfire.

To be honest, I am not happy with some of the leaks.

I am hoping it is just people talking, or fake leaks, because I don't think I will be satisfied with the outcome.(especially regarding robby)

Of course that's just my opinion, some people may actually like them but nope not me, at least not the ones I have seen.

In a much more serious note, lord knows what happened between Zara and Robby, but Robby did not cheat, he was taken advantage of. And of course the series will never outright say it was that way even after clearly showing Robby wasn't in his five senses. Sure, it's realistic for víctims to feel like they had any responsibility of what happened to them like Robby did when he blamed himself for it, but knowing Cobra Kai? I'm sure he said that because the writers wanted to frame it as Robby cheating on Tory to create conflict and nothing more.

I'm so glad so many people are pointing this out too. And dont even get me started about Robby drinking man. The issues of a child who barely knew a life where his parents were completely sober from drugs or alcohol are complex, and the possibility of Robby turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism isn't nonexistent, but they be writing these dialogue and story points LIKE THEY MEAN NOTHING.

don’t know the words to explain properly but part 3 of ck was so incredibly bad and just so rushed.

it didn’t feel like a series finale to the show. it just felt like the end of a season or a ‘too be continued’ or a ‘next time’

i enjoyed the fights in this part, samtory, keenry.. that’s all i think.

so, gonna just quickly talk about the things i had an issue with:

i don’t think the sekai taikai should have continued into part 3, or it should’ve been done differently. like a kid died.

continuing on a kid dying, it’s a month skip and none of the teens show any signs of trauma or caring that kwon died?

i went in dead set on thinking that they’d be having issues with seeing someone die and he’s just not mentioned, and they just wanted to continue the tournament no questions asked … weird

tory and johnny have no idea that kreese had passed away :(

no core four goodbye scene? what do you mean sam is off to okinawa with miguel, did robby and tory even manage to say goodbye to them?

devon and kenny having zero lines was actually crazy lol. also, tory and devon having a mentor and mentee relationship thing same with robby and kenny and there were zero scenes with them

we know tory and robby obviously were talking and had a reconciliation but we only saw them talk in episode 13.. why are they having conversations off screen

it would’ve been so heartwarming to see her little brother there at the valley. cheering her on and seeing her win

tory’s mother passed away, no dad, junkie aunt. so brandon was the only person of significance in tory’s family. so it’s just crazy that we saw him one time in season 3 and he’s barely been mentioned after that

in the scenes with tory at home in part 3 they couldn’t just sneak him in somewhere?

said this once i’ll say it again, tory’s little brother shouldn’t have been cannon if this is how they were gonna treat him. they were better off just making tory an only child instead.

if brandon was of significance and important to the story + tory’s storyline, that would’ve been amazing lol. i would’ve literally ate up tory and brandon relationship content.

the problem with making axel and zara too overpowered (OP) in part 2 of cobra kai.

going into part 2 my biggest worry was that they were going to make axel and zara too OP- like never losing a fight in the tournament, and unfortunately that’s exactly what happened.

the issue with making them too OP is that it messes with the balance of our existing characters. when you introduce new characters and have them win every fight without losing not even one it cheapens the tournament and it also screws over our existing characters.

axel and zara could have been strong, shown as threatening without the need to make them bulldoze throughout all of their matches.

by never letting them lose, it sets up absolute annoying and ridiculous discourse like this:

‘it doesn’t make sense for this person to beat this person’

‘they were nerfed’

‘they only won because of plot armour’

and let’s be honest. the ‘plot armour’ discourse is fucking stupid. every character in the show has plot to some extent. if they didn’t, they wouldn’t have made it this far in the show. but also, why would they have 2 characters who were introduced in part 2 of the last season win over sam, miguel and robby who have been here since season 1 and tory who has been here since season 2. that literally wouldn’t make any sense.

moving on, if our existing characters had lost to the new characters that wouldn’t been fine. like that is not the issue here. the issue is that axel and zara completely dominated the tournament. it should have been balanced.

axel and zara should have been shown to be beatable by actually losing matches in the tournament. and if the writers didn’t want them losing matches, the least they could’ve down was allow them to take hits in their matches. here’s how:

1. zara vs another competitor in different dojo (like tiger strike or redentores) in an early round OR vs tory or sam | let zara lose a match to one of them but come back stronger later in the tournament, showing she can adapt easy from a loss.

2. axel vs competitor | have axel lose a match against the competitor in a very close match, only after giving the person he is fighting against a really tough time, pushing his competitor to his limits.

3. injures and exhaustion playing a role here | show them both struggling with fatigue, and having minor injuries, proving that they aren’t fucking invincible and the tournament is tough for everyone involved.

but instead, we got axel and zara just bulldozing their way through the tournament like it was nothing. the big brawl too. in the big brawl, no one landed a hit on axel. zara beat tory in the opening fight with cobra kai vs iron dragons and in the big brawl tory only managed to land one kick on zara before zara regained control. it’s sooo frustrating that they were made out to be so untouchable and invincible.

what makes this worse is learning that choreography was cut that actually showed them both taking hits. i’ve posted this on my blog here a bit ago but there was choreo cut in which tory was getting the upper hand on zara but that didn’t make the cut.

zara was also supposed to take hits in the semi finals against maria. this comes from the woman who plays maria (jewels) in an interview on youtube.

and axel was also meant to take hits from kwon in the big brawl. this also came from an interview with brandon who plays kwon.

like.. that’s still not ideal but it’s at least better than making them untouchable.

this has been sitting in my drafts for a while now and i’m posting this ahead of part 3 since that drops in a few days, also the fact that we know someone is gonna be beating axel and zara in the sekai taikai.

i can’t believe i have to sit through ‘axel/zara was nerfed’ and ‘it doesn’t make sense for zara/axel to loose to..’ ‘… beating axel/zara is unrealistic’

like dude cobra kai was never a realistic show in the first place, don’t piss me off. ‘in reality this character would win’ no shit dude. like that argument is so stupid and irrelevant. like thank you so much for pointing out the obvious ??
