Leo sometimes rick rolls his family.

He has enough lovable, chaotic energy to do this. He dabs and that is pretty much a meme. 😂 The one he would torture the most is Donnie. His "twin" would retaliate by hacking into his phone and have it constantly play Leo's least favorite songs.

So I attend WasabiCon every year, here in Jacksonville, and for the past two years I’ve been hosting a karaoke panel. I also hosted an Anime Scene-it panel this past year but that’s not what I’m here to talk about.

This past year, I decided to have a bit of fun with the karaoke panel by including a particular song that I called, “Deadpool’s Theme”. I asked everyone if they knew the song and wanted to sing it. Nobody was really sure what the song was so I offered to play it for them. Then I pressed play and suddenly Rick Astley comes up on the big screen and everyone starts screaming and getting up to dance and sing with me.

It was kind of great.

Honestly, Rick Rolling is the best practical joke ever. Like, there’s nothing offensive or mean  spirited about it. It’s just like “Oops you thought there would be something else here but it’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.” which isn’t even a bad song. It’s fairly enjoyable to listen to. There’s no jumpscares, no screaming, no ill will. Just Rick Astley telling you he’s never going to give you up. I think that’s great. “You fell into my trap! Here, listen to this completely benign song that will have no negative effect on you.”
