Drew my OCs Tamika and Chelsea from my yet-to-be-written story called 'Reluctant Jamette'
Text in the bubbles, 'standard' English translation:
Chelsea: ' Don't listen to them, girl. They don't know the good person behind her.
Tamika: They're kind of right though.

Short exposition: Tamika mysteriously gains super powers that forcefully transform her. She has to fight invading spiritual forces called jumbies before she can transform back.
Her alter ego looks like a demon and the civilians vilify her, eventually dubbing her 'Jamette' (a derogatory word that means whore) as they think she comes straight from hell and the devil (I mean... đ)

In the picture, Tamika and Chelsea walk past a poster of Jamette that's been vandalized with the word 'demon' in bright red ink. Chelsea, knowing that Tamika is Jamette, tries to reassure her friend that she's not demonic, but Tamika for some reason (đđđ) agrees with what everyone else is saying.
I'm looking forward to working on this one! I'm thinking of making a little comic zine to start!

Drew some more Tamika, my OC from my yet-to-be-written story Reluctant Jamette.
She's a 'Christian' aka grew up in a Christian family but doesn't actually know what Christianity really is.
It's a recent addition but I think it'll fit so well with all the bs she'll be going through because of that ignorance.

Drew my OC Tamika and her alter ego from my story idea 'Reluctant Jamette'.
I recently got accepted into a local gallery and the lucky piece of art was a Tamika painting!

Finally caught back up! I drew one of my OCs!
Her name's Tamika and she's in possession of some superhero-type powers that she didn't ask for and is trying to get rid of. In the process, she finds out that these supposed superhero powers may have some darker origins and they mean nothing good for her.
Gave her a little redesign, because I wanted to make her look more interesting shape-wise.
I'm thinking of working on the story she's part of, because it's a pretty cool concept.

Here's Tamika! I was trying out a different style. Tamika is a practical sort of person and I tried to get that across in the way she dresses for work. She's also very slim and tall, so her clothes don't fit the best.

This was part of my final assignment for the writing course I took in 2022.
The project was a book framework where we did a basic outline for a story. We had to outline a whole book, from the copyright page to acknowledgements and all.
It was quite helpful actually! I would have never thought to do something like that in the planning stages.
This was for my potential novel-length story called 'Reluctant Jamette'. It's about a young woman unwillingly given these demonic powers around the same time her part of the country is being attacked by these spirits called jumbies.
She and a sort of friend are trying to figure out how to get rid of the powers and end up uncovering their sinister origins.

âShrouded in black and clownish adornmentÂ
Her new normal she found abhorrentÂ
Pulled away from her mundane lifeÂ
She is forced to battle with demons that were not hers to fightâ
Jumbies, mischievous and malevolent spirits have been plaguing East Trinidad for months and Twenty-three-year-old Tamika Ramsahai was the one chosen by a mysterious power to unwillingly defend against their attacks.
Not interested in protecting a public that scorns her at every turn, Tamikaâs goal is to find a way to get rid of the powers once and for all.Â
Through battling jumbies that carry cryptic messages and her co-worker who knows a little too much about her situation for her own good, Tamika starts to realise that these powers may have a darker intent behind them.

These were the final sketches that I used for my cover design. I did the split-down-the-middle thing to represent how Tamika is mentally separated from these powers that she doesn't want.
The last two sketches show her and Jamette facing each other. I can't quite remember what I had in mind when I came up with this (this is why you take notes!) but I think it was just the continuation of them being separate from each other. I do have plans for the 'Jamette' in her to start fighting against her will.

These were the ideas I sketched for my final assignment. I decided on another minimalist cover with bright colours. I went for that half-and-half theme. The character sees herself and her alter ego as two separate things, as she didn't choose this for herself.
I played around with shackles and playing card themes as well, seeing as she's being toyed with by demons. She feels trapped despite seemingly having more freedom behind this dark face.
The clownish idea came from the Youtuber Understanding Conspiracy and his popular theory of 'The Nephilim Look Like Clowns'.
I borrowed the idea of the clown nephilim in their bright colours and mesmerising patterns and combined it with a character called a Jab Jab from my country's culture.
