Who told me this was okay. Gonna stop creating new wips and get on with my old ones goddamn 😭

Uuuhhggg I want to do art commissions and maybe open a kofi but I feel the need to come out with more rendered pieces and learn how to draw quicker I feel

It’s out of character but it’s a funny thought, like after Hollow mind he says fuck it and commits acts of warfare, psychological and physical on any emperor coven member he sees. He’s been betrayed in the worse way possible and makes it everyone else’s problem.

Sees what Gus can do in labyrinth runners and instantly wants to learn how to replicate it! Heard that Lilith cursed Eda, where she get those scrolls from?! Wild magic and dangerous magic/potion books from Eda and the school, he must have have them!

I don’t even know the specifics on how this would work but all I know is that kid needs to go rogue and traumatize that hag back I say!

I love it when Hunter is just a neurotic child. Like yes child, go on your disturbed monologues and then do mental gymnastics justifying your wellbeing.

Hello!! Finally making an intro, I’m pincusionx but you can refer to me as pin if you’d like! I go by she/her pronouns. I enjoy drawing and occasionally dabble in writing and animation! Currently my primary interest is TOH and Sonic but I participate in a couple other fandoms on the occasion!

Well I’m definitely do some art of it now! Not the whole thing but some stand out parts because wow. The idea of Hunter giving out these morbid, awkward speeches is wonderful, much less a freaking eulogy for Belos!

Some Hunter/TOH speculation

Woah, I just realized that Belos told Hunter to keep an eye on the owl house members in the end of Young Blood, Old Souls. You can see in Separate tides where he watches them from the ship. Lil creep lol

Since the show being cancelled and the team had limited episodes, lots of things had to changed. (They didn’t even plan for the collector to be character in the first place!)

Makes me wonder if there was going to be more Golden Guard episodes planned before we truly met Hunter. I wonder if the also means much of his characterization was changed. Was Hunter meant to be a liar of some sort or a spy? I’m pretty sure he was bluffing for the most part in separate tides which is technically him lying. Idk it would have been cool to see him stalking the owl gang. A fun play on his name. Makes me watch to watch imaginary/cut episodes about him in between separate tides and Hunting palismen.

Rip spy Hunter, your potential will be missed.

Imagine an AU where Belos is imprisoned after Titan Luz defeats him rather than killed.

Then one day Hunter comes to visit him in his prison and he asks if Belos ever thought he could have been happy with him.

And (and I know this would be OOC for him) Belos can't bring himself to answer. He would gladly say no just to make Hunter feel bad, or maybe even say yes to manipulate him, but he actually finds himself lost for words.

Hmmm, this is outside of what you asked but I wonder if Belos did have any sort of love for Hunter.

It’s already stated that Belos created Hunter as a toddler. It’s still unconfirmed if he made any other baby grimwalkers. I’m also pretty sure it was confirmed that he experimented on grimwalkers too, so not every grimwalker was a Golden Guard. So I’m going to assume all the previous Golden Guards where older teens to adults. I wonder if he had any attachment to Hunter, I mean he was around since he was basically a baby. It’s hard to imagine not having some fondness for something like that but again this is Belos.

I see different thoughts on why Belos created the grimwalkers, some say it was Belos way of justifying himself and reliving the betrayal over and over, it was genuinely to get an ideal version of Caleb, to have a new brother to take care of him, ect. I genuinely wonder if Belos ever loved a grimwalker, maybe the early ones but that was hundreds of years ago and that’s still a maybe.

He hallucinates Caleb looking down on him, disappointed. He knows subconsciously that what he doing is wrong but he’s too far deep into his delusion that he’s saving mankind from these sinful witches.

In the end they are just tools, an uncanny replacement for the brother he murdered and never got over.

But at the same time he did express disappointment at Hunter not lasting, the collector also question why he didn’t kill Hunter when he had the chance to after eclipse lake which is odd if Hunter is so replaceable. That he genuinely believed that Hunter would stay in line and be his most loyal one.

Actually now that I think about it, Hunter never betrayed Belos explicitly. He only rebelled in small ways like studying wild magic, making friends and having a palismen which Lilith also had. Hunter only nearly got killed because he found out the truth but Belos never gave him the chance to plead for mercy or the option to come back. Who knows if Hunter would have gone back if he was given the chance, Belos could have at least attempted to manipulate him to believing what he saw was fake or something.

He says their betrayals hurt but never shows it. While I do think the grimwalkers are set for failure since the start, he might have had hope that Hunter would have lasted since this one he actually raised this one and the fact that Hunter was actually loyal and devoted to him. It hurts how much this kid loves him.

Idk if the other grimwalkers were tricked to believing Belos was their family or something but Hunter loved him like a father figure and wanted his approval so badly and Belos knew this.

To your hypothetical, imprisoned Belos Au are interesting but something you don’t see often. I think he would spend a lot of time pondering, praying and wondering what if’s. Considering there’s not much to do when you’re locked up. He allowed himself to live in ignorance and hate for so long, was it even worth it? Could have he been happy in a place like the boiling isles? What if he never killed Caleb? What if he never left the human realm? What if he never made a daring spell? Why did he make coven again? What if he gave which kind a chance…? What if he never abused his grimwalkers? It all too crazy and he’s spiraling.

Hunter visits one day despite being told it not a good idea. But how could he not? Despite being abused and hurt in unfathomable ways by him, he still loves him in sick way. He was his only family for so long, that man who kept him isolated. He still fantasizes about being fussed over and loved by Belos, still has ‘fond’ memories of him. So to Belos surprise, the Grimwalker he once killed and abused is now sitting in front of him, ready to chat.

They talk for a bit, Hunter tells him a bit about the outside word and the changes made. He isn’t aggressive or confrontational, he couldn’t be even if he wanted to. Belos stays silent, unsure of what to say. Most grimwalkers expressed hatred before death, yet this one who he actually once killed was chatting with him like it was a normal day. Hunter is terrified but he keeps chatting, pretending this is fine. Belos tries to make his own comments and redirect the conversations but can’t. He lost for words because he’s in a situation not even he foresaw. He expected rage, ridicule or even tears but not this. Hunter was talking to him like he was still family.

I imagine Hunter, in his ill mind, still thinking of Belos as family. Still someone he wants to love despite everything. That he often thinks of him even on good days.

Soon Hunter asks that question if Belos could have ever been happy with him, if he ever loved him. Hunter believes that answer is no, he was already marked for the slaughter with that sigil, a dead man walking. Even if he wants that answer so badly to be yes.

And Belos can’t answer because he’s already thought of this. Could he have been happy with Hunter? Was he fond of Hunter? Was Hunter just a replacement? Was he a good replacement? Could he have loved him outside of being a replacement? Was there any love for the child he raised?

He could say no and hurt Hunter, the ‘love’ was always conditional, he was just a tool, was meant to be dead, ect. (But that might drive Hunter away and Belos is lonely)

He could say yes and give Hunter false hope, manipulate him, make him take pity, revive that old loyalty, ect. (He could get caught in this monitored state and get his only loyal companion ripped away)

But he can’t answer because he doesn’t know. It’s been so long since he had loved. He hated for far too long, he got rid of any chance to love. Was it possible to be happy with Hunter? Just him being Hunter and not some tool or replacement?

Idk this concept is good, I genuinely wonder what would have happened if Belos did actually love Hunter. I don’t think he does or ever did, he was just upset that his tools broke faster than he thought it would but it’s an interesting thought. I think if Belos and Hunter did start to bond in this Au, everything would be bittersweet in the worse ways.

Im imaging a scenario where Hunter puts a concealment stone to cover his scars for funsies and he looks hella weird to his child.

The child doesn’t understand the weight of the scars or what they imply but that doesn’t matter because dad has scars!

Like they see him and just pause because what. Who is that? Who are you?!

So both cardinals and blue jays are very territorial birds also known for being aggressive and defensive.

Now I need to draw flapjack or waffles being lil assholes to other witches (including the hexsquad) and palismen. Them being territorial of Hunter and not letting anyone near is delightfully hilarious. Hunter needs to reassure them when others try getting near. I’m imagining a lil flapjack screeching and pecking anyone getting close including the other palismen trying to hang out. You have to give them food a compromise. Once they settle down, they’ll just give you the stink eye.

Like imagine trying to greet Hunter then his little red bird starts screaming and flying aggressively at your head, horrifying. Better if when he goes to the human realm and flapjack starts trying to fight the bird population, specifically the other cardinals. Ooooo jealous flapjack hits. I think I’ve read a fic like that.

You try visiting the palismen carver and immediately get jump scared by this angry blue bird.

But yeah here’s some rambles. Been thinking about the little guys and thought it would be funny to incorporate some actual animal behavior in them.

Do you mean music as inspiration for art or what songs I listen to? I’ll answer both.

Songs that are more intense or darker subjects result in more “edgy” drawings while more happy songs that are more positive result in my more cute or wholesome art. It also depends on tone, that matters . The boiling rain drawing I was listening to stuff like set it off or get scared which are the typical early mid internet edgy songs like ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ or ‘sarcasm’ which resulted in a drawing I would’ve seen in deviantart or in a edgy 10 year old YouTube animation lowkey. That drawing made me laugh since it seemed over the top.

But it works when working in a Au with an angsty teen.

Though I don’t really associate Hunter with those songs because he’s not like that but that doesn’t really matter because when you have an obsession, you manage to put your blorbo through every song you listen to. It’s kinda funny.

Songs really do matter when drawing I think because it greatly affects what I’m going for. When listening to the emo bangers, my art style came out a bit anime-ish, while in a WIP I’m working on, the song Skeleton appreciation is the inspo so it’s going to a more depressing piece. Despite these both being more dark songs the tones are different which result in a different drawings, I often put songs on loop on certain drawings since a lot of my ideas stem from the media I consume, like music. I also imagine animatics which I may make in the future.

I have my own songs I associate different things with. For the late redemption Au it’s bands like Set it off, Get scared, Evanesence, MCR, ect. Not necessarily because I think the songs match him but because the frequent angry and hateful tones of the songs do. Like the lyrics aren’t exact but the rage is still the same if that makes sense.

Here some more songs of the songs i remember listening to during some of Late redemptions drawings. Everybody’s fool, going under by Evanescence. Evil people, Wolf in sheep’s clothing, Punching bag by set it off. Sarcasm, Don’t you dare forget the sun, keep myself alive by Get scared. Dead, house of wolves, Kill all your friends by MCR and others more. I might make a list of songs in the future.

Anywho, media affects the kinda of stuff you produce, my recent streak of consuming Horror and dark comedy movies has recently produced my new Au that’s just Hunter consuming flesh because of grimwalker biology. So yeah.

I definitely encourage people to consume media in all sorts of forms, books, movies, shows, music, ect. Not because it’s good to have a range of things but because it gives you more idea of what to put your faves through. My wise words

Been seeing some discussion on Hunter’s kill count so let me throw in my interpretation

Hunter isn’t some cold blooded killer. In fact in the show we see him avoid doing any messy work. Like having the owl gang try to kill the selkidomous or letting Luz and the Palismen go. Or the fact that during the fight with Amity he never did anything to imply he was trying to kill her, he didn’t even try restraining her. He just was trying to snatch the key and leave the entire fight. If anything, it was Amity pulling out the hurting and restraining moves lol.

But rather where I think there is violence was because of the inherent nature of the two missions. Mission 1 was him trying to kill the selkidomous, the only reason that didn’t happen was because there was people there to do it for him (even if they didn’t). So that makes me wonder, where there other beats killing missions he had to do? I’d imagine so, and I guarantee he didn’t have anyone to the work for him those times. So there’s that, Hunter killing some beasts.

Mission 2 was the palismen , and also before the mission we see him handing a palismen to Belos. So yeah, dude has probably taken ownerless palismen in the past, and has given palismen to Belos to kill and eat so theirs that. I don’t think he’s directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of palismen but numbers do add up.

Also another thing I want to mention is direct responsibility, I’d imagine a lot of the violence or deaths caused by Hunter weren’t directly from him but the consequences of his job.

Now next is where we can be a bit imaginative, I pretty sure it’s stated in the show that Hunter only goes on missions on the weekends. So dude is pretty much just hanging out in the castle in the weekdays. That means he was probably doing paperwork, and considering he’s a coven head, he has a lot of power. So on the weekends rather than him going on missions, he was sending out scouts. That means anything that the scouts did, that he may have sent was also partially his responsibility. So if the scouts where to arrest, or kill any witches, then Hunter would likely feel at minimum partially responsible (I feel like he’d feel incredibly guilty as if he directly killed them)

Now for the actual mission, obviously he’s likely captured wild witches. While he was shown to struggle a bit but learn and adapt with palismen magic. When we see him with his artificial staff, he’s highly skilled with it. He fought pretty calmly with Luz and Eda at the shores and can travel a high speeds with it. I’d be more amazed if he didn’t manage to arrest anyone. Anyways, so here’s Hunter, he’s arrested some wild witches and he’s proud of himself. He takes them to the conformatium, he thinks that’s the end of it only for those witches to be privately petrified. We know that public petrifications hadn’t happened in 30 years but we see that they still happen in private.

It’s a bit dubious if we know if Hunter knew of these petrifications or not, much less arresting witches knowing they’re going to be petrified. But I think he possibly may have considering in Hollow mind he excuses those death of the sigil witches as just Belos perfecting sigil magic and literal terrorism for the greater good.

That’s where I think a kill count comes to play, that Hunter arrested wild witches knowing there may have been a possible chance of them dying. Therefore making him a factor for death. (Not to confuse with cause of death)

Another idea is him accidentally killing, like using too much force or miscalculating a spell. Another idea is killing in self defense. Assassinations aren’t much of a surprise in the castle so I don’t doubt there’s a chance that he may have killed an assassin or someone trying to cause bodily harm on him. Again a situation of a fight with a wild witch going too far. I don’t doubt a wild witch willing to fight Hunter to death knowing it was likely he was going to arrest them and lead them to a possible death.

One more, a messed up one but one that isn’t too out of character is having Belos having Hunter test his loyalty by being able to kill for him. Or Belos having Hunter kill someone in the privacy of the castle, like a traitor coven member (I doubt Raine and the Cats are the first to attempt a infiltration) Hence, where the context I was thinking of for this drawing actually comes from. (“May Titan have mercy on you”).

Again this is me just counting deaths and not any other potential violence he may have committed (not resulting in deaths. Even if someone doesn’t die, the violence inflicted upon them could still be life changing. The idea of Hunter giving someone a disability or trauma is pretty sad :( and not even impossible). Hunter in the show is pretty desensitized to violence in the way he talks about it or thinks of it in Any sport in a storm and Hollow mind.

So yeah, that’s my Hunter kill count, a couple if beasts, dozens of palismen and handful of actual witches, my guess 3-6. Could be higher but I’m trying to be a bit more realistic, even if I admittedly want to dramatize it lol.

Anyways that my rambles, anyone have their own thoughts on this?

What kind of instrument do you guys think Hunter would play?

I think about all the types of magic we never saw Hunter use in the show. Besides seeing some non specific staff magic like teleportation , creation and blast we only see him use magic that could be considered construction and have interest in potions but that’s it really.

This actually low key disappoints me because I know a boy like Hunter with such a interest in magic would know how to do so much and we didn’t get to see it. I can imagine all the original and bizarre ways he would use magic since I doubt many people has interest in teaching anything but the basics. Like yeah, he had an artificial staff but he still needs to know the spells like how we see him having to use flapjack for the first time in eclipse lake.

Oh well, that’s what we have fanfiction for

Anyways, while I don’t think Belos would care to much for Hunter to learn Bard magic as it would probably need to another artificial tool and there are other skills Hunter could learn instead.

I just think it’s fun to think about the Golden Guard or just Hunter whipping out an instrument and jamming out mid fight or for funsies.

I think Belos would have him learn some sort of church kind of instrument. Like one you could hear at a church or something in the 1600s.

Like a viol, lute, fiddle or recorder. Since these instruments are pretty old in origin and used in religious spaces which I think suits Belos.

I think Hunter would be good at this and would be commonly used in combat, I can imagine.

Now as for post-canon I can see Hunter learning a instrument as something new to learn. Even better if he can get waffles to turn into one.

I think he would be interested in some sort of string instruments.

I can imagine him vividly with a violin or lyre. Violin because I think they are very powerful intruments that can convey all sorts of tone and emotion and lyre due to the association with birds.

But yeah I love the idea of bard Hunter.

AU where the coven heads actually get along…sort of.

They’re all still awful people but they realize they get more out of working together rather than against. They don’t quite like each other but theirs no bad blood. They all hang out and be lil bitches together.

They even let Hunter hang out with them due to the fact that he’s so good at acting like an adult (as sad as that is), a ‘bratty’ one but he does know a lot.

Rather then just brushing Hunter off as some brat like in canon, they see the potential in him and think ‘yeah we can make this kid into an absolute beast’

It’s mainly to have him do their dirty or difficult work for them but they also grow fond of him.

Idk I just want to give Hunter a dysfunctional family out of the Coven heads

Hettie teaches Hunter anatomy so he knows where to hit his enemies and healing spells to heal himself and scouts he works with.

Darius teaches Hunter how to sew like in canon but sooner and teaches him all sorts of abomination magic like the translocation.

Vitimir teaches him all sorts of potions and how to incorporate them in fighting. He also teaches Hunter potion tolerance and how to resist certain ones and mithridatism

Adrian teaches him some illusions and even acting skills so Hunter becomes a better liar.

Eberwolf brings him out to catch and train with beasts. They bring him all sorts of bugs and little critters. Hunter often goes on retrieval missions to bring Eber stuff for the beasts he keeps.

Terra let’s him hang out at the garden and green house and teaches him all sorts of Botany and plant magic. She likes info dumping on him.

The previous Bard and Riane teach him Bard magic. Hunter summons his own violin.

Orsan teaches oracle magic to him but mainly likes to teach Hunter mind games

Mason teaches Hunter construction magic and how to use to use it to fight and fix damage done after a fight.

Lilith though jealous and annoyed, still recommends him all sorts of book and in good moments they info dump on each other

A lot of theses skills I think Hunter would have in canon like the anatomy and potion thing but he had to learn those on his own. In this Au the Coven heads are actually bothered to teach him.

Due to these changes Hunter is more comfortable with doing all sorts of combo magic like how we see Lilith does in the shows. He also carries a belt of potions with him. Certain stuff in the show goes different as well since he does form a bond sooner with Darius and Adrian.

The coven heads aren’t aware he doesn’t have a bile sac they just think he has a weak one. They help him learn how to translate their spells into his staff spells.

They all still can be cruel to Hunter like Adrain’s and Darius cruel jabs at him or Terra giving him plants that can harm him (like tea that makes him hallucinate ). They still do some back stabbing but overall they are less worse then in canon.

Though any signs abuse from Belos they chalk up to being from missions or reckless.

I think this gives them some fun depth. Like yeah they are all messed up but they are messed up together.

Now I want to see a version of the TOH if Hunter was made to look Human, aka given human ears like Caleb. Considering that all his beta design appear to be Human.

I bet he would spend a lot time wondering wondering how he got to the BI. How would this affect luz and his dynamic? His dynamic with everyone else since he would be the only ‘human’ besides luz. How would the coven heads react? I’d imagine he would have to cover his ears.

Hunter being haunted by the past grimwalkers and Caleb but being chill about it.

He calls them chat.

The others low key think he’s crazy at first but then realize he’s just haunted.

I hate how some FF7 fans who want the Rebirth story to stay the same as the OG are ruining theorists' fun. The trailer just came out, and we still don't know a ton about the game, yet some people instantly came to the conclusion that it's the OG based on what was shown in the trailer.

The developers are probably going to reveal more about the new mysteries in later trailers, yet some people are saying it's the OG all over again. Meanwhile I'm having a blast theorizing about big bad Jenova and time traveler Sephiroth,and many people are analyzing the trailer and making theories out of it that sound 100% better than the plot of the original FF7 (in my personal opinion).

I think that Rebirth is a completely new thing with the same plot points, character arcs, and story themes, but it's different from the original game. And I will die on this ship until it sinks. To all the FF7 theorists, have fun theorizing!

It's been two hours since i made them so here are the early testing verdicts

Daikon radish (big white thing) : wayyyy less spicy and soaked up the flavor really well, awesome crunch

Carrot: pretty good! Definitely mellower and sweeter because it didn't take as much brine in (yet)

Cucumber: a staple for a reason! Literally delicious brine all the way with a satisfying crunch.

Green onion: (mostly tried it for giggles it's in there to flavor the batch) pretty bitter and too much

Normal onion: crunchy and sour! Not much to note but pretty good

Garlic: WAYYY TOO SPICY TO JUST EAT, ILL USE THESE TO COOK PROBABLY BC THEYRE NOT POROUS ENOUGH TO SOAK IN TASTE

Red pepper: these were dried when I got them so too spicy rn... not terrible necessarily but it overpowers all the flavor completely.
