Okay so here me out-

Hanako abruptly cut Akane off when he was about to say that Kou likes Yashiro. And he was visibly upset and bothered about it. Could it be because of confession he did before.

When he confessed, Yashiro not knowing it was for a mission was really giving thought about it. She was about to say yes. She was willing to date him just because he 'liked' her. What if Hanako was remember that and feared that if Yashiro knew about Kou liking her she would go out with him.
