Hello,

My name is CJ and I’m a trans man. I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and I still live there today. My dad is a Chilean immigrant and he came to this country when he was only 8, spending most of his life in the beautiful land of Puerto Rico. My mom grew up in Florida (where I was born) and has mainly Irish ancestry. I have two older brothers, both in college. One attends Juilliard, the other UNCC. Most of my friends are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. I also have friends who are children of immigrants, just like me.

When I was born, it was induced by medication and I was born 8 weeks early due to a disease my mom had contracted while pregnant with me. We both survived thanks to the doctors and nurses who helped my mom deliver me safely. Due to my premature birth, I have struggled my whole life with chronic illness and disability.

I am telling you all of this because I am scared. Tomorrow is November 5th, Election Day, and depending on who wins I may be in serious danger.

Please, for the sake of me, my friends, my family, the trans community, the chronically ill, the disabled community, immigrants, immigrant families, women who need access to healthcare, and EVERY. SINGLE. American citizen…

💙VOTE BLUE💙

I don’t want my rights to be taken from me.

Something I think anti-abortionists (including myself) need to understand is that when you (rightfully) call out the fact that abortion is murder---or at the very least wrong, you're gonna get push back.

You're asking these women to confront a reality that's gonna force them to rethink every aspect of their life and how they see themselves as person.

Imagine if all your life you were told this thing was fine/okay to do, and that it's empowering for you to do it, only for you to find out you were actually committing evil in the process.

I doubt many people would be willing to face that reality because no one really wants to think of themselves as an evil person (lest they be a legit psychopath). Most people don't like confronting uncomfortable truths about things regardless of how necessary it might be because it's human nature to want to run from things that don't feel good to know.

Imagine if you found out that you were actually committing murder this whole time? Would you be so easily willing to accept that truth? Of course a bunch of these women are going to show major resistance because they don't want to believe what they're doing is horrible because by extension, it would mean they're a horrible person and they would have to wrestle with their self worth and regret because that's what it would translate to for them. No one wants to deal with that.

I'm not saying this erases it, nor do I believe all women who've had abortions are genuinely evil. But really take the time to look from their perspective here. Is it really any wonder that there's so much resistance/division on this topic?

I personally consider abortion to be anti-feminist due to the fact it allows men to not be held responsible for their irresponsible actions of sleeping with a woman they have no intention of loving or providing for. It allows men to treat women like commodities with no consequence.

As someone who's against abortion, I feel like this needs to be said: Society really doesn't do enough to help women endure pregnancy either. Unfortunately, pregnancy complications are a lot more common than people would originally think, which is also another reason as to why a lot of women today are now opting out of having children. Because more often than not, our society gives them very little support, women are shamed for being pregnant outside of marriage even when it was outside of their control (such as being raped), women often don’t get help and in fact, there’s a very obvious trend of men abandoning the women they impregnate. The trend is so widespread that we joke about it. “Haha, your dad left to get milk and never came back.” You realize how disgusting that is?

In the grand scheme of things and in terms of history, we have only recently gotten out of a system that automatically writes women off as ‘hysterical’ and now listen to their pain or issues—but even then, there’s still countless of stories of women who had complications in their bodies—not just in pregnancy—due to the fact that their doctors just would not listen to them when they told them they’re in pain or suspected something was wrong. It was only until 1993 did women in America actually start to be medically studied.

When you have it all down, it is any wonder why women in this day and age don’t want to bear children anymore when there seems to be little perceived benefit for themselves and the child involved? And I don't wanna hear any red-pillers going, "Oh, females take advantage of the child support---" You're not a rapper. You're not a celebrity. You're on Tumblr. You don't have any gold to dig. And even if you do run into a situation where a woman crappily uses the system against you, it's your fault for not being sexually responsible in the first place. Sorry, she didn't get pregnant by herself, sir.

As much as I don't want abortion to be a thing, I think we really got to show how we plan to actually improve society outside of creating hospitals :l

Not saying that ALL of us are bare-bottoms who doing nothing, but the one's voicing for us could definitely be doing a LOT more.

This is why I don't wanna place myself in either political party because conservatives aren't talking about the concerns women SHOULD have regarding their bodies during pregnancy and/or how it'll effect their lives and what help they're gonna get.

Both sides have things they ignore, but my gosh.

I don't think I'll ever be convinced by the "clump of cells" argument people like to use for abortion. "It's just a clump of cells---" Okay, and what are we? What are we made of? If anything, adults are just giant clumps of cells, so does that mean I can take life from you? "Oh, but we can feel---" So can a tree but you can't hear trees scream when you cut them down with a chainsaw, can you?

I'm just saying, two plus two doesn't equal three, it equals four :/

People who say that abortion is needed because of the fact that rape victims exist, I feel are missing a MAJOR point in their arguments. And before you start blowing off on me, at least be willing to hear my perspective here.

I don't think it's a problem of abortion being easily accessible. I think it's a problem of rapists not having consequences.

1 in 3 women globally are sexually assaulted. Thus, the concept of a woman/girl becoming pregnant against her will unfortunately doesn't sound out of the norm at all. And regardless of the statistical reasons that women TRULY get abortions for, let's think about another aspect here.

If rape is such a common thing (which it is unfortunately) and women keep aborting the children they’re getting as a result of being raped, doesn’t that mean we should put MUCH more pressure to condemn and stop the rape endemic—which is why these specific sets of victims would hypothetically be getting abortions in the FIRST place? We’re only treating the SYMPTOMS here and not looking at the actual CANCER that keeps spreading.

If you guys put as much pressure on our justice systems as much as you push for abortion, it would probably gain more a productive response in the long run. Because I think we can all agree that we just want forced pregnancy to be stopped as much as possible.

Abortion is a rapist’s dream because then there’s a chance that if they do get you pregnant, that you’d be supported (if not pressured) to then erase the evidence of what he did to you.

If we're really gonna be saying that the circumstances a child is born into should dictate whether or not it should continue to develop, then I'm very sure a large percentage of us would not even be here today if that logic were to actually be implemented. If you look back in your family history enough, someone must've either gotten raped or put into a hard situation.

We need to crack on these corrupt justice systems that don't punish rapists accordingly, not have the children pay for the sins of the father.

I definitely don't like the way how conservatism handles abortion in some cases (because I feel besides making hospitals, there's still not much that's being improved), but I most certainly do not agree with the notion that the circumstances in which a child is made should dictate it's right to live. If that were true, I wouldn't be alive to make this post.

If rape is something you are so concerned about (as am I), then why aren't we banging on the doors of these justice systems instead of the doors of these clinics?

I'm pretty sure that if women are doing something as a result of a bigger problem, shouldn't we address the BIGGER problem then?

I Thought I Was Mad When I Saw How Many Abortion Clinics They Have. Then I Saw The Gun Dealers. (via Upworthy)

In Septemeber 2014, Missouri lawmakers decided women must wait 72 hours to “reflect on their decision” before they can get an abortion. ‘Cause, ya know, an abortion is one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions like ordering pay-per-view or having another glass of wine. And what about cases of rape, incest, or medical complications? Well, they have to wait 72 hours too.

On its own, this is pretty upsetting. But when you consider how easy it is to get one of those shiny metal things used to take people’s lives? That’s when the blinding rage sets in.

Note, I am finding these threads on the twitter feeds of ICU nurses who are now dreading the horrors that Roe falling will bring to their hospitals. This, on top of the horrors that they’ve seen and continue to see because of the pandemic. They were already exhausted and hanging by a thread.

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again.

If you want Roe v Wade overturned, but don’t support:

Comprehensive sexual education in schools

Easy and affordable access to contraception

Access to adequate and affordable prenatal care

Paid parental leave

Subsidized childcare

CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program)

WIC,

Then you don’t actually care about reducing abortions or protecting children. You just want to punish women for having sex.

ARGENTINA JUST MADE HISTORY.

The first protest for legal abortion in democracy in Argentina was on March 7, 1984. 36 years later, December 30, 2020 at 04:13 am, abortion is now officially legal, safe and free for all women. Women have fought for so long to obtain rights of this kind. This is a HUGE step for us, what an amazing day. EL ABORTO ES LEGAL 💚

All of the "Pro-lifers" that are celebrating right now I sincerely hope you or your daughters never have a Miscarriage that they cannot naturally pass, because a D&C is an abortion.

I hope you don't have a ectopic pregnancy, because the procedure that will save your life is an abortion.

I hope you don't have a still born baby that your body can't naturally pass because that induction is an abortion.

I hope you are never in a place where carrying a baby full term would mean your death (as mine would, my doctor looked me in the eyes and told me if I get pregnant again I WILL NOT MAKE IT, and fuck you all because my kids need a mom more than they need a sibling.)

I hope you don't find out your baby has a condition that will mean being alive for how ever long will cause them excruciating pain, that you don't have to birth your baby and watch them die a horrific, painful death in your arms.

I hope you aren't raped and forced to carry that baby to term no matter the detriment to your mental/physical health.

I hope you aren't forced to give birth to your abusers child, giving you no way out of the relationship.

I hope your 10 year old is never assaulted and have to carry a baby to term that will almost definitely will kill her.

I hope that you don't go to jail when they investigate your miscarriage and determine that something you did made it YOUR FAULT.

I hope you realize you and your daughters will die from laws you created.

I hope you realize the consequences of your actions because you may have to suffer through them.

Meet abortion bans' new best friend: your phone
Mother Jones
When it comes to reproductive rights, your digital trail matters more than you think.

"News coverage of digital forensics often celebrates its role in prosecuting serious felonies. But when it comes to reproductive rights, Conti-Cook says, the same tools “will be a powerful [asset] to police and prosecutors in a more criminalized landscape” for abortion seekers." [Mother Jones]

"Unlike medical records held by doctors and hospitals, the information collected by health-focused apps isn’t covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), a 1996 federal law that limits where healthcare providers can share your health information.

That means health app makers are mostly free to do what they want with the data they collect. [...]

What’s more, even when your data is de-identified by removing identifiable information such as your name or email address, it can be combined with other information—such as your location, contacts, or unique identifiers in your phone—and traced back to you, research suggests." [Consumer Reports]

Twitter thread from user @nandoodles about men in adtech who want to sell your period app data to law enforcement:

If You Are American And Use A Period Tracker App, Download Your Data And Delete It.

If you don't think these people won't use your data against you, I advise you to reconsider in light of Texas's offering bounties. And that there's other states considering offering bounties and vigilantism as well.

I'm sorry, this is not fair and I know it's a pain in the ass to have to note all your info yourself in a journal, but it's better to NOT give these people another tool to exert control over the bodies of people possessing the potential (regardless of how remote) for pregnancy.

Also: support your local abortion funds. Cash is a more difficult trail to follow. https://abortionfunds.org/ways-to-give/

i get that you're a middle schooler from a religious background, but I highly recommend for you to research and educate yourself on the topic of abortion from other perspectives, because as someone who personally went through an extremely traumatizing (non consensual) experience which resulted in me needing to get one. I understand how you think that fetuses are living beings deserving of life, but you have no need to try and demonize me for doing something I already feel terrible about. I respect how you can have an opinion different than mine, but the information/messaging you are spreading around is incredibly harmful to a lot of people. I strongly urge you to educate yourself enough to let women make their own choices with their own bodies, and stop sharing harmful things online. You can have any opinion you like, but at the end of the day the post button is optional. With all due respect, save the tree not the apple.

Why not save both? I know it's the easiest option to just kill it, but human life is worth more than that. You don't have to raise it, just don't kill it. Also, getting that abortion didn't fix your trauma, it just added another one.

I did look at the other side, even agreed with some things, but in the end, killing is not the solution.

Also, it's not what they do with their bodies. It's what they do with their bodies AND someone else's. I understand that bodily autonomy is important, but the right to life ( the right to not be killed ) outweights it. You can't do something with your body if it hurts someone else.

My mother, 14 weeks pregnant : *cries because she just decided she doesn't want the baby anymore and can't just kill it like she did with the other one*

my honest reaction :

My Mother, 14 Weeks Pregnant : *cries Because She Just Decided She Doesn't Want The Baby Anymore And

(I was the baby)

(btw that was a sudden decision, I was planned)

Like seriously, have you ever seen a video of a second trimester abortion, or a picure of an aborted baby?

THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ME!! Thank God they made it illegal in my country!

I was supposed to have an older brother too, but my parents didn't want him. They were married, finacially stable, and happy. My brother was a healthy baby boy, just not born yet. The only thing that was "wrong" with him is that HE WASN'T WANTED!!

I just know I would have been so much happier if they kept him. Being an only child sucks!!

Abortion is murder. The question is if it's worth it or not. It's healthcare only when the mother's life is at risk, which is pretty rare.

I will gladly debate anyone who thinks i'm wrong.

(also, english is not my native language, so don't bully me)

PREACH!!

As an AFAB (still identify on the feminine part of the gender spectrum) person who got SA’d on multiple different occasions (5, 7, and 11 years old for the cases where I or the perpetrator weren’t fully clothed, there were other occasions though, but they didn’t really affect me as much) And tend to fear falling in love with people, even if I trust them: Being pregnant is scary in any case, whether you want to keep the pregnancy or not, it’s terrifying.

To any ‘pro lifers’ (more so pro-birth) or people who are confused or uneducated about pregnancy and birth:

•Pregnancy puts the person’s life at risk, and permanently affects the body even after the baby is born.

•non viable pregnancies can be mentally and physically devastating for people involved, and should be aborted for the pregnant person’s safety.

•Non viable pregnancies include: if a newborn is guaranteed to die after birth, stillborns, fetuses with severe defects, the pregnant person definitely not going to survive giving birth (such as children that are pregnant, people with severe health issues, some intersex and trans people, etc), and more

•if abortion was only allowed if the pregnancy was caused by SA/R@pe, many people who were SA’d/R@ped wouldn’t be able to get abortions anyway, because most SA/R@pe cases don’t get reported, aren’t brought to court, are deemed false by court, etc.

•There is a difference between life and personhood. Plants are alive, but don’t have personhood. A human corpse isn’t alive, but has personhood. A fetus is technically alive, but isn’t a person.

•if you think abortion is murder because a fetus has life, then farming is murder, picking mushrooms or roots is murder, taking antibiotics and getting vaccinated would be murder because bacteria and viruses are alive.

•Abortion is healthcare. An established life of a person is more important than a fetus with no personhood or consciousness.

Have some memes for your travels:

PREACH!!
PREACH!!
PREACH!!
PREACH!!
PREACH!!
PREACH!!
PREACH!!

the "I believe in abortion only in extreme situations" people (especially women) truly baffle me because I genuinely consider "a human has another human growing inside of them and does not want to" to be a very extreme situation. to me that feels so deeply like an extreme emergency situation. I know this has been said before but it's incredible to me that this does not feel innately horrifying and "extreme" to everyone.

ATTENTION ALL AMERICANS

If you enjoy or have possession of “woke” media, remember that if a republican wins this year then all of that great media will be considered child porn, isn’t that great?

One. If you enjoy things repubs consider “woke”, I would vote blue so you don’t get executed

Two. Just incase one WOULD win,

TREAT “WOKE” MEDIA LIKE GOLD

If you find some buy it, If you are in possession of it hide it. Use a flash drive for digital stuff. I swear to GOD please.

This includes queer, poc, and anything that republicans won’t like.

(ps, for queers it won’t matter if you have this stuff, you’ll probably get arrested anyway)

ATTENTION ALL AMERICANS

You read that right! Removing WHAT terms???? WHAT will be considered child pornography?????

This is NOT just transgender people in trouble, this is every person who would be considered woke, aka ANY GAY PERSON, so STOP infighting because we are BOTH going down. They may use trans people as a cover up, but if you ACTUALLY read it its all of us.

Note To Society #20

Pedophelia is wrong. It is a serious issue, and if we keep normalizing and being accepting of this disgustingness, than we’re going to forget the fact that we are talking about the well-being of children, whom we seem to care quite a bit about when it comes to transgender people using the bathroom and abortion. This is much more important than either of those things, and we all seem to be overlooking that.

Note To Society #1

Unless you are vegan, pro-immigration, anti-conversion therapy (centers that LGBT+ children are sent to to be ‘corrected’), against children being sold into sex slavery, etc, than you are not pro-life. You are pro-birth. Please remember this.
