Something about the wizard dying right after giving Billy the title Champion of Magic hurts me.

Billy isn’t told what he’s supposed to do, he wants to help people with his new power and status, but no one’s telling him how because the only one who could died in front of him.

Now he’s stumbling blindly through life trying to get it right while everyone judges him because “clearly the old wizard Shazam picked another dud, this person isn’t doing anything he’s supposed to!”

Okay we’ve all heard the “Batman adopts Billy” thing. Which, yeah, it’s fun cause of BATson and Billy being an orphan with black hair and blue eyes, but hear me out…

Billy somehow ends up in Gotham’s streets (magic shenanigans) and since he’s so obviously a street kid and he doesn’t have any records (cause of the time bubble, Fawcett is still just getting out of the 50s and into the modern world, so the files are a bit messy) so he’s snatched up by CPS

Billy gets fostered by Bruce, but as soon as they leave that kid alone, he’s climbing out a window and they never see him again (Magic and also people are hard to track in Fawcett)

So come Captain Marvel (Shazam) identity reveal, Batman’s blue screening cause THATS the kid that left the worlds greatest detective dumbfounded?

Because we’re talking about war games I just have to mention how fucking insane it is that after running herself ragged trying to get help, after hours being demeaned and cut into, after hours of brutal torture at the hands of a terrifying sadist, after breaking free and fighting back only to get shot, after bleeding out on the floor at the bottom of the staircase her limp body was kicked down, after all that Steph got up and she dragged herself away and she got onto a rooftop.

How unimaginably strong she was. How insane that she should have bled out there, that she should have collapsed and not gotten back up. How strong Steph was, that after all that, she had enough willpower to do anything at all. She had enough strength to drag herself forward.

Because that’s what Steph does. She gets up. Despite every indication she shouldn’t be able to, she got up. And then after all that she somehow still forced herself to have enough strength to try to explain herself, to try to explain that she just wanted to help.

“barbara gordon getting paralyzed for the sake of bruce wayne’s development was misogynist, but oracle is a better mantle for her and she should still be a wheelchair user.” i say into the mic.

the crowd boos. i begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks.

“she’s right,” they say. everyone turns to the 5th row, but no one is there. then on the screen behind me: barbara gordon herself.

if you were at your worst, if you’re a villain or a screwup or whatever, there is a goth man dressed as a giant bat who keeps coming after you, bothering you. he sabotages your journey of self destruction over and over. ur ready to give up but he won’t let you. you think, today he won’t come. today he will give up on me too. he never does.

the most fucked up thing about cass and david’s relationship isn’t that david treated her as only a weapon and completely stole her of any personhood, it’s that he genuinely loved his daughter while doing all of that to her

Ok yes StephCass is my OTP and I do lean towards them not really being sexual but more based on intense codependency and stuff and like .. blah blah blah. TLDR I don't think it'd be possible to be a third in their relationship. But I think the idea of throwing Rose Wilson in is to funny not to bend my characterization of the Batgirls for.

in superman adventures #19, there’s a villain named multi-face who can convincingly disguise himself as anyone, even tricking dna tests and x-ray vision. Superman initially can’t stop him

and the only reason he gets caught is because multiface decides to disguise himself as, of all people, CLARK KENT i’m screaming

you don't need any fancy reading guides, you just need to pick something random and start reading and desperately try to figure out what the fuck is happening and hate every minute until your brain adjusts and rewires itself to make you love it and get a superiority complex about it and i'm not even joking

I've seen a lot of fics disappear from my bookmarks, some 10+ years old, because they were added to an unrevealed collection. It makes me wonder if people realize what your fic being added to a collection actually means and if the authors approved it automatically without realizing what would happen.

If someone adds your fic to their collection, they can hide it! They can mark the collection as unrevealed and your fic will be unreadable to anyone other than them! If you're writing works for a surprise event, like a Secret Santa, this is really nice.

But if you're just writing and someone adds your fic to a collection for their own personal use and marks it as unrevealed, that. . . really sucks.

I bookmarked this fic in 2017, almost 5 years ago. Knowing me, the fic itself was probably at least a couple years old at the time I bookmarked it.

This is a 5+ year old fic that is completely inaccessible now because it was added to a collection that, as far as I can tell, is literally just for the collection owner's own reference. There's almost 30 fics in the collection, all of them unrevealed.

Please don't blindly accept collection requests and if your works ARE in a collection, make sure that they aren't being hidden without your knowledge or consent.

Billy is kidnapped often. Nothing serious. The villain just wants to tell his monologue of hatred towards a certain hero. All the villains have noticed how the heroes listen to or discuss Billy Batson, the host of a small radio station. That's why the boy is kidnapped. At least once a week. The villains vividly describe their hatred, some even say a spoiler for future crimes. Billy then tells it vividly the next day and jokingly asks the villains to at least feed him, because of their kidnappings he cannot eat normally.

The villains listen to him!

Lex Luthor brought him a whole steak! The Riddler bought him fries, a burger, and a large Coke!

So Billy, being a good person who loves his job, thanks them for the lunch and repeats their monologue word for word, even overacting a little. (But the villains are delighted by this)

Meanwhile, the League is panicking because they are the reason Captain Marvel's son is constantly being kidnapped! Marvel always looks at them with a disappointed look the next day if Billy is kidnapped. But there is nothing they can do! But they tried! Honestly! Captain stop looking at them like that! They didn't know that talking about Billy would turn out like this!

Flash and Superman feel very guilty. After all, it is their villains who often kidnap the boy. Batman tries not to look disappointed at his villains when he finds out that one of them kidnapped Billy, again.

Billy, meanwhile, made a list of villains who treated him very well. In first place was Captain Cold, in second place was the Riddler and Lex Luthor, and in third place was Scarecrow, to the surprise of Batman and Billy himself.

Yes, Billy showed this list to the superheroes so that they would know who was treating him how. As a result, Flash spilled the beans to Snart, and as everyone knows, villains are the best gossips. The news about this list spread like wildfire.

Now the goal among the villains was to get at least into the top five of this list.

Let's just say that Billy started getting kidnapped much more often.

It's really funny that Cass and Steph patrol as a pair. Like, Cass? We all know she doesn't need back up. So everyone just assumes Steph's there BC she's weak.

Steph, trained by Cassandra, Batman, Barbara, and iirc Shiva? Stephanie Brown who Black Canary says reminds her of herself. Stephanie Brown who's the only one Cassandra will listen to at times.

Steph doesn't need Cass for patrol, Cass needs Steph there to keep her grounded to reality and not spiral into self destruction.
