Not much to say about this piece, just something experimental with my character Zelda. She was a birthday present from a dear friend of mine and I wanted to draw her! I’ve got mixed feelings about this piece but hopefully it’s at least interesting to look at!

I wish I could tell you that it was some sort of laborious act of love for my craft but it's actually just a built-in filter in Photoshop called "Crystallize"! There was a period of time where I was trying to use filters as quick-fix backgrounds and crystallize was one of my favorites. Plop down a gradient, stick the filter on and bam, cool and artsy!

If you're looking to crystallize something of your own but you don't wanna sacrifice a goat to the Adobe tyrants check out Photopea, its got all of Photoshop's features right in your web browser. Directory is "Filter > Pixelate > Crystallize..."

Based off a sketch a did a while ago, I love these two. This old nerd could really use some Mabel pampering to help along with the healing process.

Original sketch involved her having painted his nails as well but it didn't look right in the limited palette, maybe next time </3

Oh, and speaking of which, I love this palette! I wasn't sure how it'd go at first but it's really nice and cozy, perfect for this scene.

Today’s been wild! My snake’s tank broke and I’m home alone all week so that was a whole process lol. She’s got a swanky new one though and I think she’ll like this one more than the old one! Grateful I was able to get this done in time.

Another resource for animal artists

So I have just discovered the absolutely incredible digital library of skull scans. These scans include not only images of bones (mainly skulls) but 3D MODELS THAT YOU CAN VIEW IN-BROWSER!

For example, come rotate my cranium here!

Keep in mind that you need to have the scientific name of the species you’re looking for in order to search for it, but that information’s only a Wikipedia page away.

Definitely gonna be doing some studies with this baby!

I promise I’ll post about something that more than like four people care about in due time, been in a killer art block lately and these two are fun to draw ❤️💛 (Also I am once again indecisive about how to draw their outfits so that’s another excuse of mine. Here I gave them one-piece bodysuits more similar to how @eievuiisms draws ‘em, which makes more sense frankly but until I saw them pull it off so well I wasn’t sure it’d work so I never tried (hello btw hope you’re doing well!!). I find it super interesting how being in such a small fandom has made me intentionally or not take little things from everybody else’s art styles bahaha I kinda love it!)

Heya, guys!   So, I’m a picky nerd who loves me a good generator. I wasn’t satisfied with existing animal generators, most of them being very non-specific (i.e., “parrot”, “bat”, “mouse”…boring!), and so I figured I’d create my own!  After garnering an initial list of animals, I decided to take it a step further – let’s add occupations, personality traits, nationalities, and a bunch more to make a more extensive generator for creating a basis for interesting characters!   I’ve compiled what I believe to be the most extensive anthro/animal generators on the internet. We’re talking every mammal, bird, fish, reptile, and amphibian on Earth, 5MB of text, takes like a full minute to scroll through the source code at top speed! Countless personality traits, original attributes, body types, and so, so much more await in this puppy.

Feel free to use however you want. Mix and match aspects, ignore parts, add parts, whatever. Please, enjoy! I hope you find this as inspiring and helpful as I have in such a short time.  If you have any questions or suggestions, lemme know! Thinking of maybe adding color palettes in the future, though frankly it’s real hard to edit this thing, lol  This wouldn’t have been possible without thewebsiteofeverything.com/ , Wikipedia, and countless other sources that I ruefully didn’t record. Chiroptera Visual Database

Hi there! A couple years back I compiled a massive folder of all the bat species in the world* in photographs for quick visual reference. I feel I should share it in hopes that it can help someone like it has me and save them a lot of time looking up ambiguous search terms such as "bat species" or trying to find photographs of obscure ones.

This database contains:

Sub-folders labelled after families (vesper bats, megabats, etc.) for easier sorting

A-Z sorted photographs of all the documented species in the world*

A little text document telling of the best places to find more photographs and/or info about the species

Photographs include professional-grade shots, scientific illustrations, fieldwork photographs, headshots, wingspans, skeletons, skulls, foot details, and comparison shots between species

All files are downloadable, including the folder itself which you can get as a .zip

Some of these photographs are very obscure and needed to be dug out of the farthest corners of the ‘net. This was a passion project of mine in order to give myself an easy-to-access art resource to better understand these animals and their incredible diversity. I hope you can find some use of this, as well!

Drew this when I was in the middle of a really bad depressive episode, so please excuse how overwhelmingly cartoonishly tooth-rottingly fluffy it is lol; cuddles are my go-to when I’m feeling especially low. I am cringe and I am free. I AM CRINGE AND I AM FREE. (And also not depressed anymore so that’s good!)
