Made more au versions of Hassen and Minnow, this time it's @obamerzslop's terrible digital circus au. God, look at these hot topic freaks, I hate(love) them.
It was fun trying to work with the limited color palette too, trying to use darker colors while still having details visible.

Freakshow doodle page. Reread a lot of the "what if we separate aingle and gangle" asks and had me thinking about what Hassen might look like separated. Especially because his body was so contorted to fit the wolf to beging with (also so damn akward having arms on your head).

Both of their profiles finally done. Decided to give Minnow a little spiff up, changing the suit a little bit and giving her stripes. Makes them both match a little bit.

Bonus:
Some of Minnow's former outfits before she was perminently designated as the beast tamer. She would often have to change every other show or so. It was honestly exausting trying to remember after some time.

Minnow wasn't even supposed to be a beast tamer, she's always been a gardener. She had a bunch of acts that she failed at before Hassen came along. Caine gave ONE final chance to pick up her act before she was punished. While the audience rants and raves of her dismemberment, Minnow has found just disasosiating as a way to cope. That and crying to the few house plants Caine let's her own. But hey, at least she isn't out on the grounds (yet).
Hassen has trained the wolf to do a few "tricks" but overall he's got no hold over the wolf. Also Hassen is definitely catching Gangle up to everything they missed out on in anime.
Still just like everyone else, he hates aingle.

Really wanted to make at least Hassen a freakshow version.
I imagine that Caine wouldn't really find a sheep with a sentient hat to be all that interesting, so boom hat is now a full ai wolf. Making Hassen participate even if he doesnt want to (though it is more to keep the teen in check, you know how teens are these days). Dragging the helpless sheep its attached to around. The wolf is not an intelligent ai like aingle, but instead a blood thirsty animal and loyal dog to Caine.
His act would obviously be as a beast in a beast tamer act, but I felt that an ai beast tamer would mesh too well with the wolf. So I decided Minnow shall suffer along side Hassen.
(Don't really know what to do for the rest though, I think it would be cruel to have 1 beast tamer and 3 beasts)

Hassen- a very shy guy that hates to be touched. Is the type to growl at a mf, but in reality is terrified (basically a sheep in wolf's clothes)
Minnow- a guy that would really like to be left alone. She just wants to garden and forget that she's here.
Wepple-🤓. Really just needs a person to rant niche information to.
Dranya-hates being alone, but doesn't realize justvhowcannoying she can be at times. She will often times (with the help of the bear below) will force others to play along
Papa bear, basicly like those Midwestern fathers that force you to stay out of your room. But like, a bit more unhinged.
Also, Pickles is an empty suit so 👍
The stuntman and the admin!! A duo you'd never think would get along!
Inky!!! My digital circus OC!
Inky… uh… has there memories… all of them… but they don’t talk about that.
Jax tends to refer to them as the “Oreo cookie”
Inky gets along best with Bubbles, and Kinger. (They will never admit how much they enjoy Kingers company)
Inky’s mouth works the same way Jax’s mouth works.
Inky can fly, with and without their wings similar to Cain. But it wears them out fast.

Rosetta is a fluffy orchid/spiny mantis and is based off a stilt walker. She also has an abdomen but it’s just not included in the ref.
I imagine before entering the virtual world she was a single mother and now treats the other characters kinda like her children because it just feels right, even if she doesn’t know why.

Oh you guys thought I was done? How silly. As long as I breathe, I will be cringe.
Anyway! I saw @burrotello’s fight club AU and wanted to throw Minnie into the ring! I couldn’t imagine her as an actual fighter, and I realized that we don’t have a referee. I thought it’d be fucking hilarious if a mute character refed, so that’s what I went for :)
Shes far more greedy in this AU, letting Jax and Able get away with a lot more because of the pretty pennies they put in her pocket, despite hating cheaters. When the fighters don’t stop fighting, she gets in the middle of them to break it up. She’s a lousy (and very weak) fighter, so it doesn’t usually go well.

This has kinda been a long time coming, but considering I’ve been really busy with schoolwork, volunteering, and a new job (!!!), I haven’t been able to work on the comic lately. I’M NOT GIVING UP, but I do need a break. I will still be posting artwork because I love drawing, but organized work is exhausting :’)

So, about The Mime... I have a headcanon about her.
While unable to speak herself, she would probably have the ability to play back messages of all the people who enter her maze by "recording them" with her mirrors and can even create new sentences by quote-mining them.
It's pretty creepy if you ask me.

Ok so the last part absolutely blew the hell up. It scared me cause now I actually HAVE to finish this comic. Aw shucks.
These panels were probably the easiest to draw out of all of them. Mostly cause they’re the exact same and all the others are different from each other. I just love torturing myself basically.
