I would pay to see it ngl
See THIS is what I want dude!
I’m glad everyone just going hog wild with ideas of using Mickey in both good and the bad
Instead of a probably crappy horror flick we should use this Steamboat Willie situation(and Oswald also public domain since 2023) to create a metatext postmodern sequel to the underrated classic adventure game of Epic Mickey-uh I mean *a new made up name*.
And want to further cover yourself? Make it a commentary of modern disney or something.
To any public domain aficionados, please do feel free to help spread the word of this petition.

for those of you who remember cgtextures circa 2008, texture.ninja has a large repository of public domain textures without annoying hoops to jump through.
So about a few months ago, I made this Pixel Leaf fanart based on her new sona's design. I'm honestly really proud of this one, the only problem I have is to draw a hand pointing. TBH, fingers are kinda hard to draw.
But anyways, @pixel-leaf if you are reading this or somehow stumbled upon this post, hopefully you'll enjoy this fanart I made and if you do, I'll safely say thank you for your appreciation 😊👍
In case you live under a rock, Mickey Mouse and the cartoon made for him has recently reached public domain on the first day of January in 2024. Which makes it a great idea for Keithan (my OC) to be cast in Steamboat Willy where Doom Ramirez (My other OC) built a boat for him. Needless to say, things went horribly wrong.
However I recently heard that Mickey being on the public domain would also bring out some huge downfalls such as making some money by making crappy horror games, and being copyright claimed by Disney themselves, but hopefully I'll never be copyright claimed by Disney ;)
Well, it seems that you made it to the first drawing that has some serious topics. If you are feeling depressed or overwhelmed that these two have passed away, be happy for them for creating one of your childhood favorites.
I personally haven't watched Dragon Ball yet, but I've had one of my friends inside or outside the Internet that are huge fans of Dragon Ball and it is sad to see Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, pass away. So thank you Akira for making one of the most goated anime of all time, and hopefully you'll rest in peace.
It was also sad to see the creator of one of my childhood favorites also pass away in the same month. I haven't heard of Janice but I appreciated her for creating a wonderful childhood for me.
I have no other words to say other than my deepest respect goes to everyone that supports these two people and their family.
Thank you for everything...
Felt like doing my own take on public domain characters today. Have my own take on Chessie!
Once again its the day we all wait for, public domain day. the day some thing get ripped out of the clasps of the claws of corporations. This year is notable for many things becoming public domain but specifically a certain mouse in the united states. Here's an example of some of the things but note that this is only a sampling of what's become public domain
In Europe and other life of author + 70 years areas:
The Wind Has Risen by Tatsuo Hori
The polish Koziołek Matołek comics by Kornel Makuszyński
Mr. Weston's Good Wine by T.F Powys
In New Zealand and other life of author + 50 years areas:
J.R.R Tolkien's work, but only the ones published during his lifetime. Things published by his son Christopher are not public domain
Margaret Wilson's The Able McLaughlins
The works of crime writer Lucy Beatrice Malleson (Anthony Gilbert)
In the US:
All things published in 1928
The big one of course, Steamboat Willie and the earliest incarnation of Mickey Mouse. Disney still owns trademarks so be careful and theres some things like his gloves that didnt appear until later and im sure the Mouse's lawyers are watching like hawks
The House at Pooh Corner, first appearance of Tigger
Orlando: A Biography by Virginia Woolf
Theres much more. Take a peek over at Project Gutenberg or The Internet Archive
What do Peppermint Patty, Frankenstein Jr. and the Impossibles, and Poison Ivy have in common? They all should’ve entered public domain as of today under their original copyright terms, but didn’t thanks to retroactive extensions.
Also, obligatory ”Mickey Mouse enters public domain a year from today” comments.
If you stay forever, let me hold your hand I can fill those places in your heart no else can Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah I'll be right here…
Because my love for you is greater than words, I've decided to keep quiet.
Until u found that person and u will never ever get the thought of not getting loved enough and they will give u the every reason that u are being loved with everything
Loving yourself is fun until you realize you are afraid to fall in love with someone else, in the fear of doing yourself wrong, of falling too hard, of not getting loved enough
I feel like I need to tell u something that I never told u before, but I can’t bring myself to tell u, I wrote messages many times but I either never sent them or erased or deleted them out I am just waiting for the right time but it never comes and my words remains unspoken.I just wish that something I haven’t told u before u are just good at reading eyes.

It would be so special to have a sister like that in some universe—someone who cooks your favorite comfort food, teases you for no reason , watches out for you on dates, and offers a comforting shoulder when things don't go as planned.
i really wish wish that every eldest daughter has an elder brother in some universe who will cook her favorite comfort food, teases her for petty things, secretly sneaks on her dates and lets her cry in his arms when things go wrong
Some women are like "Oh no, I'm not a feminist" or just shitting on feminism in general while getting equal opportunity in their education, getting paid equal to their male counterparts, wearing pants outside their home, posting things on social media, giving opinion about the government and so much more which feminists fought for. Babe, u are living ur privileged life because of feminism, stop being delusional.
And as humans we never realise how much we crave serenity, sometimes in serenity itself and often in chaos too.
Never have I felt this wretched by a book, never! Being weak at heart I intentionally avoid reading disturbing books but I just couldn't resist this one. I finished this in two sittings, first half out of excitement of starting and the second half of wanting to see it throught the end. I had already been warned about part 3, but reading it was one of the most bravest reading I've ever done, NGL. Part 3 was so dreadful, treacherous, exhilarating I could feel a knot in my throat just reading it, I was literally squeezing on anything in hold to let the feeling subside. At points I felt I should just leave it but I knew it wouldn't leave me alone, so I saw through it. Towards the end I had developed major trust issues and just waited for how worse it could go, it did worsen and worsen but the two of them saw through it two, the third could not. I was numb. As much of a hopeless romantic I am I wouldn't dare to say all's well that ends well NOOO!!! I'd rather have them be seperated than go through all that they had to go through.
The worst part is that it's not just fiction, it's a reality of thousands and thousands of women around the world, it was the same 100 years ago and even today in not just war stricken Afghanistan but also in the society we live in. All the freedom and alternatives we take for granted would feel like heaven to those women. And calling out all the stupid illiterate donkeys who twist religion to impose their will on women, when they themselves know what kind of assholes they are. Prepare your excuses well for the day of judgement.
I don't know who are the human animals here people who were dying of starvation finally having a sigh of relief at the sight of food or the ones who baited these 600,000 starving people with merely two air drops of flour and shooted and killed 150 people within just 10 minutes
How can people still not realise that this is one of most heinous war crimes to ever happen and still the opressors are shown and accepted as oppressed?
I love being warm - taking hot showers, drinking hot coffee or steamed milk, cuddling up in my fave blanket or just lying in his arms
The fact that I am blushing giggling kicking air over old Bollywood romantic songs after years of very rarely listening to them says a lot about how badly in love I am right now 😩
I am okay with your history. It made you who you are. And I happen to be in love with who you are.

I don't agree with you. Feminism doesn't mean men hate in anyway. Feminism stands for equality in rights and opportunities of both sexes. Doing what men have done since forever will result in the same cycle repeating some day in the future. The point is to get rid of this notion of power being held by one of the sexes or one being superior than the other.
Forcing men into household chores and women into the outside world is doing what men did long ago, just roles reversed. The point is to let women who want to pursue a career, do it. And also, letting women who want to spend time on their families, do it without making them feel bad about not being the cool business woman she doesn't even want to be.(That too if her partner is okay being the sole provider). This should also be equally acceptable if the roles are reversed.
Ultimately, feminism seeks to create an inclusive society where everyone can live according to their own preferences, irrespective of traditional gender stereotypes, a society where choices are respected and supported without judgment, where partners support each other equally.
I had never met a soul, who could speak my language. Until there was you. You, are fluent in me.
