Can we talk about how young Danny is? He was fourteen when he died. FOURTEEN!!
He defeated the literal king of the ghost zone, a version of himself that was powerful enough to end the world, and stopped the actual destruction of the planet (arguably two whole dimensions but still). And he did all this before the end of the year, or the end of the next year I don’t remember.
I think this is why we as a phandom are so drawn to the idea of ghost children, because Danny is a child. I want to see him be a fourteen year old, not quite a teen not quite a child. I want to see him act his age.
I want to see him with mentors, heaven knows his parents don’t fit the bill and Jazz is just a teen herself. But Danny would have to go through more changes in himself and his mental state than anyone could imagine, he’s need some sort of parental figure to guide him.
This is a long winded way of saying I want more Lost Time. Thank you.
Merry Christmas Truce! Here’s my gift for you @buggypumpkin :)
Diana has never been happier that the Louvre Museum decided to add a space exhibition because of her new coworker
Danny Nightingale was a bright-eyed 20-year-old who stood 5 inches taller than her and completed transitioning. They were too honest for her to doubt that statement but it just didn’t line up.
She had seen them catch a life-sized model rocket single-handedly before knocking it away from his guided group.
She casually slips Themyscarian into their conversations and they can keep communicating.
She confuses their sister for Artemis when she catches the two of them at a diner and their sister is even taller.
Danny has also been a great workout partner and when they tried sparring she could see the Themyscarian techniques built into them.
Danny had even shown her a photo of their dad and mom, and now she’s even more convinced. But she couldn’t believe that it came from their father’s side?!
She invited Artemis over to meet her enigma, and they both agree Danny has to be at least part Amazonian.
Danny loves his new job and his co-workers took them in immediately. They can’t help but tease Diana’s theory. Of course, he knows she’s Wonder Woman. Even if they retired and full-on ghost royalty, he still keeps up with the hero world. Hell, they’re even sure they’ve been an informant for Diana once or twice accidentally and a couple more times on purpose. It hasn’t been lost on them that Diana is slowly introducing more amazons. Like they’ve met Hippolyta over coffee?! WHAT?! There’s even occasionally a package of jewelry and books they recognize cause they’ve seen the stuff in Pandora’s lair!
Danny is at a loss for words with this situation. Maybe hanging out and training with Pandora had more of an effect than they realized. But how were they supposed to deny it when they knew Clockwork could be listening in at any moment? How awkward would that be? Explaining that the boogeyman Diana grew up hearing about was their grandpa too. Well, not actually but they can’t take that away from him. The ancient is just Grandpa-shaped dammit!
Danny joked one time about being an honorary amazon and didn’t realize that’s all it took for the two to take off running.
Cause what do you mean they suddenly has an Amazonian ancestor added to his family tree?! There’s no way Clockwork would change the timeline just to make them related. WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE DID?!
They can’t even wipe the vindication off Diana’s face when they admit they’re (now) one-sixteenth Amazonian.
Clockwork had to finally admit to the other ancients that he couldn't handle it. But of all people to tell him that it was a recipe for disaster, it was UNDERGROWTH?! UNDERGROWTH TOLD HIM FIRST! AS. A. WEED?! He's the literal concept of time! He had the patience to do this!
---
He did not. He didn't listen to the ancient of dreams who told him his grandson was a literal nightmare. Nor did he listen to the ancient of ice who wasn't doubting that the great one could easily be fueled by spite. The boy was half human and a growing ghost. He's been villainized for so long that Amity could hardly be called his haunt anymore. His grandkids were indeed statistically and cosmic anomalies. But for all that's good in the world, he had the patience to know the realm would choose a new king. One who didn't desire to conquer each half-ass rock the living deemed a keep, a home.
But that was where he made his mistake. For there was only one family that truly tested his patience before this. None of that could prepare him for the person that can and will get into his personal space. He couldn't bear it anymore when all of his robes were replaced with inflatable T-Rex costumes. He couldn't bare that the coffee machine gifted to him always poured a hot and delicious brew turned to a popsicle when it makes contact with his tongue. And the NOOT NOOTS! He couldn't bear to move when even the slightest twitch would bring on the onslaught of clay penguins that stood still in the corners of his eyes. MENACINGLY! He could only freeze time in 10-second intervals for a moment of peace. But that time was getting shorter. The longer the boy king was gone, the more he was getting used to the bridge of space-time, and it showed to no one but him. 10 turned to 8 and then to 6. By the time it got to 3, Clockwork was reduced to a sobbing mess. Bad enough that the Observants tried to comfort him. THE OBSERVANTS!!! Of all the things he had to interrupt because of the timelines being in danger, it was the day his grandson was going to the observatory with friends after promising he'd leave the boy alone for a month. He couldn't even let him go for five hours. He needed a break. And his grandson needed less time on his hands.
How was he doing all this and still keeping up with lessons and paperwork? How could he hide his devilish smile from the other ancients and make them think Clockwork was going mad?! He needed someone. Anyone. NO! NOT ANYONE! Vlad, the GIW, and his own parents were fair enough to show that not everyone would treat his demonic grandson kindly or allow him free will. Wait a minute. Demonic? Oh? Oh, this could work. - Not a billionaire fruit loop: Check. - Deals with levels of the occult: Not most denizens, but it's a start. Check. - Someone leading a heroic life without being a hero. ... Check. - Snarky: CHECK!CHECK!CHECK! Clockwork could cry with the intrinsic connection they shared to be there at the right time. The mountain of paperwork involving this man was just the cherry on top! NOOT- He sucked that tear right back in. He had a plan. He could do this! At least until his grandson forgives him. Hopefully. Now, how does he deliver the news?
Guys I need some help. I have the beginning of an idea but no idea where to go from it.
I read somewhere about how Danny bought all of Constantine contracts because of all the fighting and paperwork he had to do over it. But what if Constantine's punishment came from Clockwork instead of Danny? The punishment?
John Constantine is now the legal adult of Danny "I'm already half dead so why not" Phantom. Who does whatever he wants cause literally why not?
(Please add onto this I desperately want to see where this will go)
Jason Todd, at 15, panicked and tired, didn't know what to make of the situation he was in.
Jason Todd, at 13, was oblivious to his best friend, who was, by all means, just as much of a medical professional as Leslie. That totally wasn't concerning.
Oblivious to how he'd always have a copy of Pride and Prejudice on hand whenever Jason was feeling stressed. Oblivious to dancing shadows and tricks of the light that lead him to hidden clues at crime scenes. But he was aware of the promise to be each other's ride or die when they had to beat up older Gotham Academy students that tried bashing them for not being from rich families.
Jason Todd, at 15, was aware that changed when it was his turn to tend to his friend who got a high fever. He had Alfred rush them to Leslie's and stuck by his side because he knew his friend was afraid of hospitals and needles. He held his friend's hand tight and squeezed to remind him that he was there.
They made jokes about how they couldn't avoid each other even in death. That's when it becomes Ride or Die and Beyond. Then he died. Screaming for his friend and for his dad. Jason Todd, at 15, has never failed to grasp that he couldn't get rid of his friend even if he wanted to. It was fucking annoying... and endearing.

Danny Fen Nightingale, at 15, never thought he'd be fighting back an assassin lady with a shovel in front of his best friend's grave. He's been feeling off for months. His grief over his friend felt... wrong? Something was happening. No, something was bound to happen. He couldn't explain it until a green sticky note told him to take a little walk down memory lane within Gotham. He dug up some flowers he was growing and stopped by a tool shop to get a bigger shovel to get the flowers closer to his best friend. As close as they could. But someone beat him there. Someone new? No, he knew this feeling. The unknown, the feeling that someone was watching whenever he visited. He failed to crack her upside the head for attending without flowers. But he felt the shift, somethi- time, time decided to set things right. ---- Talia was caught between a sense of shock and pride that the friend of her beloved's ward nearly got the jump on her. She wouldn't deny that it was within her expectation, though. The boy's steps were so light, she would've been hit if he wielded with less drag, something lighter. With the way the boy dodged and weave from her blows, she was ecstatic to see a dagger in his hands. Is this how the boy felt when he slipped out of here mentioning a 2 for one deal? It was only after her beloved's ward crawled out of his grave that the boy let his guard down so slightly while blocking her off from him. The boy lasted without her training. She was sure he had training of some kind, and yet his form was lax. So nimble, so adaptable.
Of course, she made quick work of the two and covered their tracks before making her escape.
Were her maternal instincts activating again? ----
She wasn't sure how to define her relationship with Danyal. The boy has finally seen the effort to correct her and Damien as pointless after months of being here. Yet, he's displayed a strength she hasn't seen in knocking down her father and dragging him through a brighter glowing Lazarus pit for "paperwork". She may not be sure of what or where her father was, but Danyal has ensured his good health with a devilish grin and that he never laid another hand on him. She was positive he was being tortured in a way the soft-hearted boy deemed fitting. But was he another son? He didn't seem opposed to the idea after her insistence to be trained and grimaced at being in a room with them for too long as he said they stink. He visits 3-4 times a week to ensure her beloved's war- Jason was good in his recovery.
She found herself agreeing with Jason less and less as the boy began turning red after they shared the night he was first back in his right mind crying and holding the other close. But Jason assures her that he's just his best friend... Maybe Danyal couldn't be her son. But he could be her son-in-law.
She wasn't against that.
She also wasn't against the glances she shared more often with Damien as two interacted. They grew closer in discussion of how Danyal fell first, but Jason was falling harder. Then there was this Roy character she's been hearing about more. She couldn't wait to take pleasure in Jason's reaction of his love interests assassinating the so-called Prince of Crime. It warmed her heart that they involved her in strategizing and cleaning up. They also seemed to be reaching a similar affection.
Now she and Damien just need to get Jason to realize he has two boyfriends. Oh, the struggle of motherhood.
The ancients are higher than god entity of concepts. It's incredibly rare to hear a mortal utter their name. If anything, Clockwork and Vortex come up for what they're known by. But now, they're occasionally referred to by Team Phantom to other people. They take it as their king asking them to look over these people one. They just keep doing it. And they aren't wrong? They just aren't right.
The Ancients: STOP GIVING US KIDS! Danny: You know I meant to help with one thing, ONE TIME! The Ancients: ... Danny: Frostbite, I can get. You do know you can just say you like helping people, right? The Ancients: ... Danny: Oh my god, you like your kids.
DPXDC Prompt# 1- Tea on Time "No. Nope. Nuh Uh." Dani rocketed out of Clockwork's tower like a bat out of hell. Wondering if bleach could wipe her memories if she unstabilizes and reforms her head. "Dani, Please? DANI?! WAIT!" The purple-robed figure was just a leg behind her as he kept trying to freeze time, sporting a blush just as dark as his robes against his normally blue skin.
Dani has never been happier for her sixth sense telling her to ask Danny for the medallion. Otherwise, she had no idea what the Time Ancient would do to not let this slip. 2 hours earlier Of course, another halfa was sent to bash a member of the Flash family. Supposedly, the reaction to speedsters was a tale as old as time.
Little did she know, she'd discover just how wrong that was. Or With Jasmine having Dani collect dirt on the ancients, the clone halfa finds out the reason Clockwork beefs with the Flash family is because he was the speed force when he was a teen and achieved some enlightenment that forever keeps a 16-year-old version of the ancient as a separate entity. This whole time, Clockwork has to keep living with the reminder of his young and dumb mistake and has his grandkids clean up his mess.
