I call this: Let Marty McFly Break the Fourth Wall.
Based on a random thought I had at work today, I remembered how many times Marty looked dead at the crowd when I saw the musical and decided he should be able to do that once in the film. After much thought, I decided the best time for said moment would be right after the DeLorean test because c’mon- Doc drove a car at them at damn near 90 MPH without even knowing if it would work. Thats- that’s just a little crazy, don’t you think?
Marty’s internal monologue retyped below just in case you can’t/don’t want to read my atrocious handwriting :)
1. My God.
2. What did he take?!
3. (Same as 2, plus) This is Heavy
4. (Same as 3, plus) What did I agree to?
5. (Same as 4, plus) Have I gone insane?
6. Are You All seeing this shit? (He drove a car at us! WITHOUT knowing if it would WORK!!)
(Meanwhile in the background I wrote out Doc’s little “What did I tell you? 88 Miles Per Hour!” Cause I didn’t know if I could get the audio)
No because actually- I saw it a few days ago and tell me how they made Doc somehow radiate MORE Dad/Guardian figure vibes with Marty than the movie already did

For as long as I’ve loved Back to the Future, I’ve never done any art for it. Is part of the reason for that Marty’s dang hair and the fact that I could never get it right? Maybe. But! In light of me getting tickets to go and see the BTTF Musical on tour with my (equally as big of a nerd) father, I was hit with a vision and just had to draw it. So here we are, the boy torn by time himself, Marty “The World’s Coolest Loser” McFly.
Honestly very proud of this piece. I learned how to fake holographics in a 2D piece, render lightning, and draw Marty’s stupid hair all in the span of creating it and I’m glad to say I now have those skills under my belt. Expect more BTTF alongside my recent Gatsby obsession and slowly returning LSOH adoration. See you in the future! 🎸⚡️⏰

I see your... any thoughts on Back to the Future and I raise you: Marty McFly wearing an earring being canon because it's in the musical.
Back To The Future 3 feels like one of those surprisingly good wattpad fanfictions you read in middle school.
It reads like a 14 year old had a weird dream and wrote a Back To The Future western AU in the best way possible.
Also if BTTF3 was a song it would definitely be Andy Warhol by David Bowie.
