maximum chaos! the foxes have started to make extra icing just so that they can re-ice the edges after andrew takes his pieces, and he responds by taking all of the edges again. there's no winning.

also! when andrew eats cupcakes, he's that person that only eats the top and leaves the rest. the icing is too sweet for neil though, so it actually works out bc he'll eat the remains. the foxes want to scream at the blasphemous display of dessert eating

andrew cuts cake pieces from the middle, and it’s not even because he doesn’t like the edges - it’s just for everyone else’s reactions

the hemmicks ask andrew to lead the prayer one (1) time at a “family dinner” and he goes “rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub, yay god”. they never ask him to say grace again

hc that neil knows how to braid hair bc of life on the run w his mom, but robin never learned (being kidnapped and all). so neil offers to braid her hair for her one day, when he notices her sloppy low ponytails and frustration. and eventually it becomes routine for her to find him before practices and games and they bond during their mini hairdressing sessions

neil has had countless dramatic main characters outside of the series - namely while staring out of a window as it’s pouring rain - and that’s just a fact

nicky has such a big heart and prioritizes everyone else over himself and i feel like we don’t talk about it enough. he’s the type of person who soothes the foxes during their panic attacks. he’s the type of person who will leave the only place that truly feels like home behind to go look after two difficult teens. he’s the type of person who will sit next to a crying stranger in the hallway and comfort them however they need (talking, distracting, joking, quiet support) without expecting anything in return

erik showed him joy and love and acceptance. i think nicky made it his goal to do the same for everyone he even remotely cares about

you know what’s painful? before the final match against the ravens when neil says that he can see how much matt loves his mom and that “sometimes he was still surprised at how blatantly that love was returned”

mary did her best to keep neil alive and they had a complicated relationship but, ultimately, neil loved her

this quote hurts though, because neil obviously didn’t really get that love reciprocated - yes, in her own way, mary loved him and tried to keep him safe and as happy as possible given the circumstances, but overall his life on the run was full of pain and fear and his mom added to that

so of course it’s weird for him to see randy love matt so fiercely and so openly, but my heart still aches for him
