book two follows a woman known as the most beautiful woman in the world, who is a black, disabled, and bisexual rape survivor. the book deals primarily with rape culture and her love interest is also black and she falls for him because he’s respectful of her boundaries.

book three follows a young woman of color trying to run a kingdom that has been victimized by colonialism, with the help of all her various queer friends, including a bisexual man of color she’s falling in love with. she is very easy to read as bisexual, and the book is primarily about dealing with the nationwide trauma of having been so brutally treated, and with the importance of memory to fix it.

au where Virgil and Patton are a mystery solving duo that slowly become not-a-duo because in all honesty they’re really bad at it alone. halfway through their second case ever they get unavoidably stumped so they cave and ask Logan to help, and after that he’s just a part of the crew. They all refuse to tell Roman what’s up bc he’s a bit of a blabbermouth, until he gets caught up in the action one time, and when they save him he’s just like “well now you have to tell me what’s happening :)” so they resignedly explain and let him join the team. Janus sees through their various excuses and basically just invites himself to their meetings and refuses to leave, so they don’t really have a choice there (but he’s actually very helpful, albeit not super cooperative). They’re like the world’s most dysfunctional Nancy Drew crew
