Wes and Danny aren't enemies. They are two individuals with a highly complex and tremendously confusing relationship composed of mutual deep respect, begrudging fondness, an unspoken understanding that they can never be overtly friendly to each other but would in fact commit murder unprompted on the other's behalf, and petty antagonization.
Danny helps Wes hone his detective skills to a level never before seen on planet Earth. Wes cannot merely connect the dots, because as soon as he does, Danny pulls some temporal-bs/clone-shit to unconnect those dots and Wes has to start over from scratch. No, Wes must find the most hidden dots, the obscurest of connections, the most shrouded evidence that even Sherlock Holmes himself wouldn't be able to deduce, because anything less gets Clockworked out of existence. And then those obscurest of connections get Clockworked out of existence anyway, and Wes progresses to the next level of detective-ing.
Wes helps Danny stay safe from the government and any potential hostile forces in the world of the living -- including Danny's parents. Because if Danny is destroying proof of his halfa status that needs Wes fucking Weston to get uncovered, there isn't a human being or shady government agency in the history of humankind that could deduce Danny Fenton is Phantom.
Outside of their little game of deduction and destruction, Wes has straight up made some of the GIW disappear. And Danny... well. Lets just say that Wes came to school a grand total of once with his makeup smudged -- allowing a trained eye to just barely make out the presence of a bruised face underneath -- and Wes's P.O.S. step-dad was never seen in town again.
In the cafeteria, they absolutely will try to trip each other, and some of the insults they throw back and forth behind the teacher's back are enough to make Dash want to step in and deescalate the situation.
Wes caught it, because of course he did cautious bastard. And yes she realises this now that fighting on the street was not the smartest move but it was a long time since she saw her friends from Amity and they got along fairly well with Weston.
So they had a good time, she managed to nip him on the cheek with her knife (after taking it back) he left her with a new bruise (it will be gone by tomorrow noon) and then they were both taken in by the police...
And now she has to explain why she did what she did to the GCPD and Ancients help probably Batman as soon as she gets back to her apartment. Who could've guessed that having a friendly brawl would be so taboo in Gotham? (who is she kidding of course it's suspicious it looked like they were trying to kill each other to any normal person!)
and she's not sure how much she should say!
Like theyâre DEAD boy detectives. They have to have their âtrueâ ghostâs forms
the fact that Edwin lived in the early 1900s is a fantastic source of comedic potential. he's just constantly saying things that he doesn't realise are completely batshit insane, and the others are just left utterly floored.
like they're all talking and Crystal mentions she's tried cocaine once on a wild night out, and Edwin, who used to get that shit medically prescribed at the drop of a hat is like ??? okay?? hope you felt better, it always used to help me when I had a cold too :) Charles why are you laughing?

So this is a set of expression practices using expressions from an art meme that kind of took on a life of their own and decided to be a whole AU.
The premise is that the gubbermint, in true reactive fashion, decides that metas/speedsters are too powerful to be allowed to just run around. No pun intended. So through a combination of trickery, betrayal, and just not leaving them any options, the speedsters are all rounded up and held in a facility that contains some pretty heavy duty anti-meta dampening fields, etc. However. They were not reckoning on the speedstersâ well honed ability to take apart just about anything with enough time. The speedstersâgood and badâescape.
Picture IDâs: 1. Avery Ho gives a shaky grin, tears pouring from her eyes and dripping from her face, as she says, âOh my GodâYouâre alive!â She is shown from the shoulders up, wearing a form fitting but featureless grey bodysuit that covers her to the neck. Light is falling on her in a way that suggests she is in a dark room facing an open door. The image is greyscale aside from her eyes, which are brown.
2. Bart Allen and Ace West cringe back, lit from behind. Both appear disturbed by what theyâre looking at, which is in the direction of the viewer. Bart exclaims âOh grifeââ while Ace declares âThat is sickâ. The boys are wearing grey bodysuits identical to Averyâs, their hands are visible, raised into the picture, and the suits cover everything but their fingertips.The image is greyscale aside from their eyes. Bartâs eyes are golden and Aceâs eyes are brown.
3. Barry Allen and Eobard Thawne are shown in the same grey uniform the younger speedsters have been shown wearing. Barry is walking a little ahead of Eobard. Both men are slightly bloody, Eobard is bruised as well. Barryâs expression is a nervous, strained smile as he glances over his shoulder at Eobard. Barry suggests, âMaybe we wonât have to kill any of themâŚ?â While Eobard, smiling viciously and staring to the side with a predatory look, counters, âWouldnât count on it, Care-Barr.â The image is greyscale aside from their eyes and the blood on them, with Barryâs eyes being a light blue and Eobardâs eyes being bright red.
DPxDC prompt where Jim Gordon lost contact with his sisters, Maddie and Alicia, some time ago.
Maddie was always the reckless sort, always one to run off chasing, well-- ghosts. As for Alicia, she'd never gone very far from their hometown, and they'd been on bad terms since Jim left for Gotham and joined the police force.
They drifted apart, with Jim hardly aware of the milestones in his sisters' lives. Alicia was hardly one to use the phone and would never quite give Jim a straight answer to Maddie's whereabouts. Considering some⌠legal troubles she and her now-husband had in college, Jim could only assume what she'd gotten up to over the years.
Still, Jim was always busy. Life went on, and he laid down his roots in Gotham. There was never a good time to head back to Arkansas. Never enough drive toâŚ
That is, until Alicia called him one day, for the first time in years.
"Hey, Jimmy," she started, nervous in a way she never was. "I know we don't talk much, but I'm real worried about Maddie's kids."
cassie must give real good hugs huh
DPXDC prompt ~ Honor to Us All ~ Gotham as one true the most haunted city edition
~~~~~
Instead of a welcoming banner in front of a city was an old column, so familiar to a boy, with a warning inscription:
"To outsiders mad enough to attack Gotham: You will be forced to understand that dead soldiers will also go into battle. And having risen to protect, they will be ready to perish all again, So no one of the living would die near them."
Danny smiled with love. 'Iâm home, Mother.' Ghost whispered into the void. And Gotham answered.
~~~~
Danny: My Lady, I brought you the crown of Pariah Dark. And The Ring of Rage. Theyâre gifts to honor the Gotham family. Lady Gotham: The greatest gift and honor is having you on my side, child.
~~~~~
Danny Fenton was born in Gotham and lived here until his parents decided to move. The city didnât accept them.
'When I die, I want to be one of the Gotham Knights.' Little Danny with pride and eagerly reported to his parents after visiting the Battle Glory of Gotham Museum on a school trip. This evening, Danny learned that not all his plans should be told to his parents.
Danny know his parents are crazy about ghosts. and that all ghosts are "bad". But obviously, the ghosts they talk about, and his, or rather Gotham's, ghosts are completely different creatures. The spirits of the defenders are those who, even in the darkest of times, make the shadows of the Gotham a protection to the citizens.
But that knowledge is his little secret for now. Because if he starts arguing heâll be punished and he wonât be able to run off to the roof where heâs arranged to meet Robin. Robinâs cool! He works with one of the 'still-living' knights. And he knows more about the city than anyone. Danny doesnât want to offend his friend.
~~~~~
Mr Lancer doesnât understand why the lecturer about ghosts, Constantine, after seeing Danny, said something about the bloody gothamites and their inability to stay underground. It wasnât nice at all. Mr Lancer doesnât blame Mr Fenton for smiling at the man a little aggressive and viciously. Poor boy probably didnât know how to respond to his behavior. Danny moved to Amity Park a long time ago and did not stand out at all. So what was this manâs problem?
Danny only half dies because Lady Gotham blessed him when he was a child. So when Danny sees snow-white hair and glowing green eyes in the mirror, he is not frightened but surprised that the Lady protected him even though he is not living in Gotham now.
~~~~~
Danny knows gothamites donât consider that Gotham is a part of the USA. Even their Metropolis neighbors are just pathetic cowards, unable to withstand the hardships of life. No, really. Why the hell would they be patriots of the country that thinks theyâre its dirty secret? This opinion is shared by old ones and children, rich ones and residents of Crime Alley, heroes and villains.
Danny loves Gotham. And he likes local jokes about how if one of their supervillains ever took power enough to threaten the government, he would be obliged to release them from that citizenship. Otherwise, he would be shamed and ridiculed by the inhabitants.
Phantom is not a villain. But for Gotham? For their common purpose? He is ready to pretend to be.
~ A ghost can bring his city ~ Great honor in one way ~
Gothamites remember that the child of mad scientists was the only person Boy Wonder was willing to call a friend. They remember how boys' laughter was heard from rooftops and from alleys on particularly dark nights. And they know whose restless spirit has returned to mourn the death of the second Robin.
The boyâs parents must be fools. Many outsiders are. They call their blessing a curse. People die in Gotham. And not all of them come back. Residents know that these ones are chosen by Lady Gotham herself.
The public enemy of Amity Park number 1? What nonsense. He is not theirs anything! In Gotham they will accept the Phantom as a guard, as a silent shadow, as a villain or a hero. In any kind. Because he belongs here. He should be part of their dance between life and death. He should be amidst dark alleys and acid rains, gliding between fear and laughter in the air.
Even local villains experience strange yearning. Like somethingâs wrong. Like a piece of a puzzle thatâs lost. Therefore, the local abandoned observatory is empty, and none of them is in a hurry to call it their territory. Because it will be in demand, it will be loved and needed. Itâs only a matter of time.
Let the spirit of Gotham guide you home, child. Dead gothamite is still gothamite. Which means there will always be a place for you.
When Danny first enters his favorite cafe in his Phantom form and with a wound on his leg, he doesnât expect a cleaning lady to yell at him immediately for the blood on the floor. With a mop in his hands and with already bandaged leg, Danny feels as if all his worries had gone. They are not afraid of him. Of course. No one in Gotham would avoid him because of glowing eyes and sharp teeth. And thatâs nice.
The waitress throws a tray of food on a table next to him: Welcome dinner for the wandering son of the alley. Red Hood said it's your usual order. Heâll be waiting for you on the gargoyle. You should know which one.
~~~~
If parents listened to his childhood stories about good ghosts, they would know that the Phantom is not special. He is not an anomaly of ghost nature and not a mistake. He is one of many who always were and will be defenders of the city. Danny stands in front of the costume that he admired years ago. He's ready to take another shift at work. The remains of his colleagues can rest quietly this night. Lady will wake them only when in dire need.

Summary:
Daniel James Fenton had lasted a total of one month in space until his fellow crew members finally caught on to him. Which was both disappointing and a feat to behold, in all honesty.

Story below the cut!
The Janus was a brand new space station, freshly launched into orbit and in its first year of operation. The current squad were the first to inhabit the station, and thus their interpersonal roots went deep. They had trained together, worked together, bled together, and even lived together back on Earth. As a team, they muddled through the glitches and hang-ups that came with pretty much being the guinea pigs of the Janus program. There were 5 of them on the team, though only 4 and a half were human.
Daniel James Fenton was a critical team member on the Janus, the first consult for everything engineering and mechanical on board. He was also Danny Phantom, a super-powered ghost, which was a closely held secret amongst the crew.
Danny had truly tried his best to keep his dual identities from the crew, and had maintained his secret up until right after they were sent into space. Which was amazing in itself, looking at the menagerie of tests they had gone through to procure their spots and ensure their individual safeties in space. It was a miracle heâd gotten as far as he did.
It was the youngest of their group -Isabella (their resident master of technology, who could fix just about anything that had a computer in it)- who started the unraveling of Dannyâs web of lies. It all started with the first time Danny went on a spacewalk. He moved fluidly, gliding with more grace than the clutz had any right to. He had even tripped up the steps when they boarded the shuttle that carried them up to the station.
Danny pushed off from a handle and then spun in midair to get to where he wanted. It seemed almost like Danny didnât care for momentum and just⌠moved. Slid across space. Isabella didnât see it at first, but once she did it was hard to ignore. He got sloppier and sloppier as the walk went on, almost like he forgot she was there. He kicked off from one place then made a 90 degree turn to get to where he needed. It was almost⌠unsettling. Uncanny valley?
Of course, Isabella didnât tell him that. She took a mental note and proceeded with her day, deciding to watch Danny a bit more carefully.
âCome on in, I think thatâs everything.â She said into her mic.
âHeading that way,â Replied Danny as he launched off, did a spin, and then came to the airlock. Isabella caught a grin on his face.

Jamie caught on to it next. Jamie was a physics wiz, and spent a lot of time making observations on the celestial bodies that surrounded them. And thus he was quite good at observing his teammates as well.
He and Danny were using some of their down time to hang out in the common area. They chatted idly about what they were working on, but when Jamie mentioned his parents and what they did for a living, Dannyâs expression soured. The awkward silence lasted for only a moment, until Danny proposed a game of Uno. He procured the cards from a pocket in his pants and dealt them out, letting the cards hang midair.
Such an action wouldnât have normally been odd.
Jamie was the team lead, and thus knew for a fact that a pack of Uno cards were not among the list of items Danny brought to the station. But Jamie was not entirely certain in his memory, and he didnât mention it. They played a couple of rounds and even got the rest of the team in on it, which Joel ended up winning.
~~~~
Joel was yet another member of the group. He had been reluctant to join the project at first but was practically shoved into it for his excellent performance in genetics research. Though at first unwilling, he got along with the rest of the team like wildfire and soon fell into their rhythm with ease. He was the resident biologist, and his green thumbs managed the small garden they had on board. It was where he could most often be found. He also had a running experiment with some creepy-crawlies, all of which he had named. No one was looking forward to the day when they had to hold a funeral for one of the bugs, as Joel had gotten quite attached. Joel had a floppy head of green-black hair (the dye had slowly faded as his roots grew) and a huge pair of glasses that dwarfed his face.
Joelâs realization that something wasnât quite right came about on the day that Danny was in the garden wing. Danny was helping Joel record data on the state of the various plants they grew. Joel left the more complicated stuff for later and simply handed Danny a micrometer to use in measuring the plantsâ stems and leaves.
It was Dannyâs first time assisting, so Joel followed him closely. And in doing so he noticed how his teammate was distinctly avoiding a certain flower that grew in the back corner. Each time Danny floated near he would grab for a handhold and steer himself away. Joel thought that maybe he saw Dannyâs eyes water.
But that couldnât be right, could it? Due to his field, Joel had been privy to the allergy section of everyoneâs medical records. He had carefully selected all of the specimens and seeds to be brought on board so that they wouldnât aggravate any allergies the crew mightâve had. Maybe it was an undiscovered allergy?
Joel had just opened his mouth to speak when suddenly Danny sneezed. The sneeze was sudden and unavoidable. Danny brought up a hand to cover the blast as best he could, but droplets of gook still shot off into the air. Joel brought up an arm to protect his face from any stray droplets.
âOh, Ancients.â Danny cursed, (though it wasnât a curse Joel had ever heard before) as he looked down at the snot covering his hand.
âDonât move-!â Joel said quickly as he shot off to grab a wipe from underneath the plant beds. He took his eyes off of Danny for a moment and when he looked back up he could swear Danny was now on the other side of him. Away from the flower.
Joel helped Danny clean the mess as best he could and sent him away. Danny didnât offer anything about the allergy and Joel was so distressed with snot particles still buzzing around that he forgot to ask. And of course he still had to record the measurements of the strange plant. Perhaps he would research a bit more about it before confronting his teammate.
Max was the oldest of the crew, and he certainly let everybody know it. He acted almost like everybodyâs grandpa, making sure they were doing ok and that they didnât need anything. He wasnât really old enough to be a grandpa, but it was what everybody ended up calling him. Max still had a head of brown, though a few stray whites had appeared in his facial hair. He was the teamâs jack-of-all-trades. He wasnât particularly the best at any of the jobs required on board, but he had a wide array of knowledge stuck up in his head. He could help with anything from hydraulics to C++. Heâd had his fingers in everything throughout the time of his life, and his well-roundedness helped to smooth out gaps with the rest of the team.
And as the grandpa of the station, he was reasonably concerned when he couldnât find Danny anywhere.
Max had a bit of downtime as he waited for a diagnostics program to run, and he had realized suddenly that it was just a bit too quiet. Danny liked to mutter under his breath, and as they both preferred the more hands-on side of things, he and Danny often worked in the same area. Or at the very least in the same wing. But the boy was nowhere to be found.
It wasnât like he could really go anywhere, really, but it was still cause for concern. What if he did something stupid like going for a spacewalk without an observer? No such thing was on the schedule for the day, but Danny tended to get wrapped up in his own head from time to time and skip safety procedures.
Curious and slightly worried, Max went around to their teammates checking if Danny was with them. He stopped at the garden first. It had a sealed door, for the purpose of measuring oxygen levels and keeping a controlled environment when needed. Max knocked and the door slid open. Joel was inside, at the door controls. He held a tablet loosely in the crook of his left arm, as though he had just been marking something down.
âWhatâs up?â Joel asked. He pushed off and glided back to a strange-looking flower, one with a red bloom and purple stems. Max had never seen anything of the sort. Max moved slightly into the space. He looked around, but didnât see Danny.
âHave you seen Danny since breakfast?â Replied Max.
~~~~
As soon as Danny saw the rest of the crew gathered in the common area he knew heâd messed up. It didnât help that he had a McDonalds Sprite in hand. (It was the closest thing he had found to downing straight ectoplasm). He debated for a moment on turning it invisible in his hand but from the speed at which everyoneâs heads had swiveled to see him, he knew heâd been caught. (At least heâd had the tact to revert to human form before phasing into the station).
âWhat have you got there, Danny?â Questioned Jamie with a raised brow.
âUh-â Danny stared blankly down at the drink in his hand. His brain froze.
âA smoothie?â Danny referenced. Sadly his joke didnât seem to land. It was a very icy reception. Awkward, Danny glanced off to the side and took an idle sip from his drink. The tension in the air was so thick it could be cut with a knife.
Isabella was the next to speak.
âWe know thereâs something up with you, Fenton. Is it something thatâs gonna endanger the team?â She asked coldly. She hovered up near the roof, grasping one of the bright blue handles. A tablet floated idly next to her.
Danny sputtered.
âNo- of course not!â He said without thinking.
âSo there is something going on!â She shouted victoriously. Heat rushed to Dannyâs cheeks. Jazz pulls those mind-tricks on him all the time, howâd he miss it?
âDanny,â Said Joel seriously. All eyes turned to him.
âAre you an alien?â He whispered conspiratorially. There was a bright glimmer in his eyes.
Okay, that was a new one.
âNo way heâs an alien!â Jamie interjected. âMy betâs still on vampire.â He said matter-of-factly. Danny just looked on in disbelief. They started shouting observations and evidence back and forth at each other and suddenly Danny realized he hadnât been nearly as inconspicuous as he thought. He almost considered trying to sneak off and lock himself in the bathroom when suddenly a hand landed on his shoulder.
Danny jumped, making his head slam into the ceiling. Max idled beneath him, looking slightly guilty.
âYou keep getting stuff from somewhere, and youâre acting weird. You might as well tell us whatâs up with you. How are you going back to Earth and then appearing back up here?â Max asked, plain and simple. But Danny didnât know how to respond.
His first instinct was to lie through his teeth, build up a toppling tower of falsities that would surely crush him when it finally collapsed (he still waited for his parents to see that his teenage life was full of plot-holes) but there was no way he could hide this. They caught him red-handed, and there was no way out. Danny couldnât find the words to explain.
Luckily, Isabella found them for him. (Or not-so luckily, depending on perspective).
âAmity Park, huh?â She said sharply. The tablet was now held in her hands. She turned it around to show a paused video.
It was Wes Westonâs youtube channel. Specifically a video that Danny made him take down. Wes had promised he had, but by the âunlistedâ tag, it was clear he hadnât followed through. Isabella tapped the screen and audio filled the common area.
~~~~
â-Everyone thinks Iâm crazy, but I know Iâm right!â Wes shouted in the squeaky tone of a teenager whose voice hadnât quite settled.
âDanny Fenton is Danny Phantom! Here,â Wes gestured to a table behind him, pulled up on a projector that was aimed at his bedroom wall.
â-I kept track of all of Fentonâs bathroom breaks for the last month. Ninety-three percent of them line up with Phantom sightings!â Something clicked and the view changed.
Instead of the graph, it showed an image of 15-year-old Danny Fentonâs yearbook picture. Another click, and it was replaced by Phantomâs, in a remarkably similar angle. Though the expression was different and leaves partially covered the camera. A new slide and suddenly the two were overlaid, one right next to the other. They formed an almost-perfect face. One face.
~~~~
Isabella tapped it again and the video paused at that exact moment. She grinned, not out of maliciousness, but with the glint of a predator who knew they had already won. Damn. How far did she dig to get that?
âAccording to some old forums, up to like ten years old, Amity Park is infested with supernatural beings called ghosts. A lot of people chalked it up as a tourist hoax, but there are some pretty serious discussions out there. And official records of many deaths being declared as caused by ghosts. A lot of it was deleted or redacted or covered up in some way, but I managed.â She shrugged. Isabella spun the screen back around to herself and swiped down idly.
âThe name Fenton also showed up so often, I could filter my search by it. Also repeated mentions of Fentonworks, and various patents filed under the company. Which were all redacted to hell, and had mentions of something called the âGhostly Investigation Wardâ stamped all over them.â
âLooks like they were government funded somehow. Mixed with the forumsâ details of them and even some published papers I found, it seems like they were pretty into the paranormal. And Danny âPhantomâ sounds pretty ghostly to me.â Isabella looked at him with an expression of inquiry. She feigned innocence.
âYouâre too smart.â Danny scathed. Isabella just made a âhmâ sound and shrugged.
âIt was on the internet. All I had to do was find it.â
âSpill it, ghost boy.â With that final statement, everyone turned to look at Danny. A wave of anxiety rolled over him. The temperature suddenly dipped, before he reigned it back in a split second later. It didnât stop Max from shivering.
âMy parents have been really into ghosts, since college.â Danny started. His hand found its way to the nape of his neck, a nervous tic heâd never really had reason to kick.
âTheir life's work was to prove ghosts were real, but their theory was all wrong.â Danny tapped into his core lightly, letting it steer him towards what was technically the floor, and he sat down.
âThey thought that ghosts must be evil, so they made all kinds of weapons to fight them. But their crowning achievement was this- portal. A gateway.â Danny looked up and didnât see any looks of confusion or disgust, so he continued.
âThey worked on it for a decade, and they finally finished it when I was 14. They booted it up and it didnât turn on.â An ache started in Dannyâs chest. It felt like swallowing sandpaper.
âMy parents went out to get their minds off it and my friends convinced me to go take a look while they were out. Maybe they missed something.â
âOne thing led to another, and I went inside. It powered up right on top of me.â Danny didnât mention the button inside, how his parentsâ stupidity had endangered him.
âTurns out ghosts are real, and dying isnât an absolute.â
âOnly a sith deals in absolutes,â Jamie quoted automatically. Then he realized what heâd interrupted and his jaw snapped shut with a click. But the statement was so out of left field that it made Danny bark with laughter. He lost control of the tears that had been threatening to spill down his face the entire time he spoke, and soon he was doubled over from the hilarity of it. It was infectious, and they all started cackling. All but one, that is.
âIs he laughing or crying?!â Joel worried. But he didnât get a response. Danny was so startled that his core leaked, freezing the tears to his face in sheets of ice. The temperature plummeted, and suddenly no one was laughing anymore.
Danny could feel the tangible shift in the room and it only took him a moment to realize his slip.
âAh- heck,â He said, still fighting off the last vestiges of laughter. He reigned in his energy, letting it sink back into his skin. It felt nasty, like sucking honey through a straw, but he didnât want to freeze his crewmates.
âHoly- what was that?â Max asked. He clung to a handrail, where before heâd been hanging in the middle of the room.
âSorry,â Danny apologized immediately. He formed a quick ball of hot ectoplasm and passed it to Max, who simply stared at the ball of green flames in his hand. He blinked owlishly at it, before Danny realized that most people probably didnât expect to be handed a fireball.
âAh- itâs warm, no burns.â He explained quickly. Max lagged for a moment before gingerly poking it. The flames licked playfully at his fingers. After realizing it wasnât painful, he let Danny deposit it into his cupped hands.
âWow,â Max stared at it, mesmerized. That is, until Joel interjected.
âSo thatâs it!â He floated near one of the wall-mounted computers. A page of search results cast light on his glasses, hiding his eyes from view.
âRosa sanguinolentus are a rare blooming plant in the rose family which is known in folklore as being a ward against ghosts.â Quoted Joel. Upon receiving confused looks, he explained further.
âI have one in the garden, I noticed Danny avoiding it. He also sneezed when he got too close.â Joel offered. In response was a chorus of âewâs. Dannyâs nose crinkled at the reminder.
âBlood blossoms,â He said darkly. Danny floated back to his previous sitting spot. Max passed the ecto-ball to Isabella.
âI thought they were extinct. I tried to make sure of it, myself, but I guess I missed some.â
âIn this form theyâre just an allergen, but they can be deadly. Those buggers hurt.â He got a far-off look in his eye.
âForm?â Max inquired.
âAh-â Danny started. He floated ever so slightly upwards, then triggered his transformation. Heâd learned to minimize the energy wasted when he switched, and thus instead of rings it was a simple flash and Phantom settled over his bones.
Immediately, Dannyâs freckles began to glow, as theyâd done each time he transformed since being accepted into the program. In the place of a simple t-shirt and loose-fitting pants was instead a slim suit, covered with a dark green leather jacket and a menagerie of belts. Without thinking, a crown formed over Dannyâs head. He realized his mistake quickly and spun around, shooing the thing away, making it fade back into energy.
âWas that a crown?â Asked Jamie. Danny was suddenly reminded they only had half the story. The before.
â...maybe.â Danny responded hesitantly.
âI, uh, may or may not have pummeled the former High King of all Ghosts and gained his title through combat?â He said quickly.
âBut I canât really accept it until Iâm fully dead, so thereâs a council of regents in place until the day comes, or if Iâm immortal, then when I turn 180.â Danny ranted.
âI really hope Iâm not immortal, but like Iâve only grown 2 inches since I was 14 and I still get handed kids menus, so like- maybe I might be?â
âI only really have two others to compare myself to, and one of them is evil so like heâs not a very good baseline.â
âWait wait- back up. King? Ghosts have a social structure?â Jamie asked with curiosity in his eyes.
âKinda..? Iâm only half ghost so I donât fully understand. I tried to avoid the whole thing but then there were a bunch of assassination attempts, so I had to accept it.â Now that Danny had started talking, the admittances just tumbled from his brain.
âHalf-ghost?â Joel asked.
âEctoplasm and electricity equals half death and a bunch of DNA stuff, thatâs about all my understanding of it.â
Joel hummed.
âSo do you know what that Ghostly Ward is?â Ask Isabella.
âItâs a secret branch of the government, they cover up all the stuff in Amity. Horrible ghost hunters, I donât think any of them ever landed a shot. But rumor is their scientists are ruthless. They contracted my parents for a lot of weapons, and funded their research."
"I guess Ghostly Investigation Ward is their real name, but I only ever heard them called the Guys in White. They are like, super strict about dress code. I dunno," Danny shrugged.
"So Ah, yeah. Lab accident, half ghost, boom- ghost powers. I got a whole catalogue of 'em. I can go down the list if you want but it might take me a while." Danny reclined in the air. He let his core take hold so he didn't drift from his spot.
"Wait- so how have you been getting to Earth and back?"
"In this form I can withstand space, and I don't need to breathe." Danny suddenly remembered he still had a drink and took another sip.
"Using your powers would be such an asset!" Exclaimed Joel.
"No way can we keep this to ourselves. There's so much you could do!"
Danny's core stuttered in his chest. The temperature dipped.
"There's a reason I've kept it a secret." Danny said coolly, to keep his emotions under wraps. He felt a mixture of anger and he was scared. Scared of what could happen, the liability that had just been created.
"Every time my secret has been revealed I have been hunted and my family's been put in danger. That GIW is no joke- if they got any clue of what I am I'd be dead- fully dead- in a week. I haven't even told my own parents because I'm scared they'd attack me."
"I have more than earned my right to keep it to myself. I have saved the world at least three times, and that's only the times that a Time God didn't warn me beforehand! And you heard of none of them."
The crew just blinked owlishly at him. Danny realized he was floating in empty space.
âOkâŚâ Isabella said quietly.
âI think I got about half of that.â Jamie replied.
âGhosts are real?!â Max looked like he was about to go through a midlife crisis. Or a breakdown. One of the two.
Danny steered himself back towards the apparent âfloor.â He dropped his ghost form, appearing as Danny Fenton once again. He lowered his voice and spoke more softly, genuinely.
âIâve had superpowers since I was 14, and up until now only five people in my life knew about it.â âOne of whom tries to kill me on a regular basis, but they donât need to know that.â
âI spent my teenage years protecting my town from ghosts and it was a miracle that I finished high school. Let alone got up here where I am now, in space.â
âIâm not completely human, I donât know what I am, really. But aside from the whole ghost powers thing Iâm still the same as I was before my accident.â
Danny took a deep breath, and let it all out.
âWould an ice cream cone for each of you make it better? Or I can get cheeseburgers?â He was obviously trying to placate them. The best way to get somebody on your side was through their stomach.
âIâŚâ Jamie started.
âItâd be a good start.â

TWO MONTHS LATERâŚ
âDanny!â Shouted Jamie.
âWhere are youuuuuuu!â He called.
Joel appeared from around the hall.
âHeâs off-ship, had some date with his partner. An anniversary?â
Jamie huffed.
âHe was supposed to take me with him to pick up a cake for Isabellaâs birthday.â
âThere goes that set of plans.âJamie threw his hands in the air and set off in the other direction.
âI didnât forget!â Danny suddenly popped into existence behind Joel, who would have jumped had he not already been floating. Jamie whipped around and came back from the other end of the station. His white hair, black suit, and exorbitant number of belts had become a typical sight.
âWhere were you!?â He yelled.
âWell for starters, that date is tomorrow. Also I found this rock outside, it looks unique!â Danny offered the chosen rock to Joel. It was shiny, and glittered in the light.
âAnother one? I donât have space for them all! I am completely overrun as it stands.â Joel sounded tired. Dannyâs star-studded freckles dimmed. His pointed ears lowered.
Dang it. Joel couldnât bear to see that face. Especially after Danny took him back to earth yesterday so he could re-dye his hair. It didnât help that Danny always looked younger in his ghost form, closer to sixteen than twenty-two.
âUgghh,â Joel put a hand out and Danny lit up as he handed off the rock.
âYouâll have to tell us more about it at show and tell,â Jamie joked sarcastically.
âFor now, we have a walmart cake section to raid!â He announced. Danny laughed, and they left shortly to go procure their prize.
âThey do know they arenât being very slick, right?â Isabellaâs head popped out of a nearby compartment. The birthday girl was smiling. Joel just shrugged and left. He needed to get back to his insects. Buggatrina wasnât eating nearly as much as she should.

âWESLEY WESTON!â A mad spirit rampaged the Amity Park News office, darting around and obviously searching for something. Or, more likely judging by his outburst, someone. This ghostâs presence was such a typical one that barely anyone even batted an eye as he flew over their heads.
The certain red-head in question ducked below his desk. His heart pounded so loudly it threatened to break right out of his ribcage. Oh heck, heâd messed. Up. What exactly did he do, again? Too many things came to mind.
Suddenly a face popped down from above his desk.
âRemember that youtube video you were supposed to delete?â That sweet tone was simply a veil for the threat underneath.
Wes gulped.
Danny Fenton starts his own business in Gotham. He knows that moving to Gotham is dangerous in a way, but it is the only other place with enough natural ectoplasm that can sustain him.
He wanted to move away from Amity Park to start on a clean slate. His parents now knew the truth, and to show their support, they were turning their research into a more sociological base instead of biological- I.E. ripped ghosts apart. Jaz got accepted into her dream college- Oxbridge. She moved overseas and is doing well in her advanced physiological courses. They told their parents of Dani, who promptly adopted her and signed her up for a traveling club under the condition she returned home for school.
The ghosts stopped challenging him after he explained Amity was his haunt and that it was bad manners to spar inside a haunt. He is open game in the ghost zone, but Danny got to choose when to go in there- his obsession requires him to defend something, so defending weaker ghosts in the Zone was a good option.
Danny always wanted to be an astronaut, but his teenage vigilante lifestyle ruined his chances- it isn't even his grades. It's a fact Danny's heart is so slow due to his ghost side it is mistaken as a heart condition. No space program would ever send him up with that. Danny decided that he would instead go with his second joy- baking. He opened Phantom Bakes in his second week in Gotham using funds from his Ghost King vault.
He served everyone and asked no questions. He was mostly sure half of his customers were gang members, but he didn't start anything and didn't allow any fights in his bakery. He became a sort of haven for everyone. He even began preparing packs for people experiencing homelessness, and bought the building next door to put some heating systems for anyone to sleep In during the winter.
Despite his obsession with protection, his human side made it possible for him to ignore it. He decided that his teenage years were spent too much giving in to his obsession and that in his twenties, he would retire. He did nothing while the various Bats threw themselves into battle, he turned a blind eye to petty crimes and basically tried not to bring any attention to himself.
He managed about six months until he accidentally walked through a cloud of fear gas while texting Sam and Tucker. His friends were tying the knot- the fact they all were best friends and exes was only slightly strange- and he was so focused on helping them plan the wedding as their Best Man he didn't hear the gasps, and horrified yells until he ran into Scarecrow.
He apologized for not looking where he was going and got a needle shoved unto his arm as a response. Danny's reflex to that was to punch the man a foot away from him.
The Bats quickly locked up the villain, and Danny decided he needed to be gone as fast as possible. He tried to return to his everyday life, but the next day, some of Scarecrow's goons showed up at his bakery asking him for work....so he hired them and taught them to make pastries. Then those goons brought over some friends who needed work but were recovering addicts and couldn't find employment.
He added coffee to his menu and threw them into that. Then some street kids asked if he would buy some stuff from them. Danny told them that he wasn't interested in car parts, but he was interested in furniture for the building next door. He had kids bringing in broken bookshelves, bed frames, and much more, paying them far more than the shady garages would.
Then some shady groups of men kept coming to his bakery asking for money for protection but Danny can protect himself just fine and proved it every single time a group made trouble.
He started having the streey kids make deliveries hoping to get them out of life of crime.
He made natural ectoplasm which, after much testing and research done by his parents, proved to clean out dangerous substances from the body. He made unique pastries that could help overcome addiction and heal withdraw.
He saw the light slowly return to the eyes of a drug-ridden community, and it brought him so much joy he barely charged for them.
Unknown to Danny, he has set himself as a up and coming villain. Rumors of his Fear Gas immunity attracted the attention of the Joker- who was found with all limbs broken, beaten black and blue after the clown tried to take a swing at Danny's employees. The baker had taken his broken body back to Arkharm, dragging the bleeding man through the streets uncaring of the line of red he left or the various people recording him in awed fear.
The rest of Gotham waited to see his true colors as he carefully built a front and gathered people. Some want to take him out as soon as possible.
Red Hood, most of all, after he heard that Danny had kids run special deliveries to know addicts. The only reason he hadn't blown his brains out was because Danny hadn't set himself up in crime alley.
The Bats had even talked him into joining an undercover mission to learn more about Danny. They didn't know what drugs he was moving or if he had a hand in other crimes, and needed more information that Oracle was unable to find.
She couldn't pull anything on Danny, driving her insane. (Techus erased Danny from the internet as a prank once and forgot to undo it.)
That led to Jason and Tim entering Phantom Bakes, acting like street kids who ran away from a homophobic father looking for a job.
Danny had them decorate cupcakes within the hour, letting them know he didn't expect them to crunch out masterpieces. They knew it would be a while to see Danny's real business so they bite thier tongues and got to work.
Tim just hopes they finish this mission before Jason snaps and shoots their main suspect....or before Danny romances the entire of Gotham because, goddammit, he has as much game as Brucie pretends to have. It's getting frustrating to see so many people throwing themselves at him, only for Danny to pretend not to notice. His good looks, charming personality, and carefully manipulated cover, drag good people into his schemes. He didn't want another Harley Quinn.
(He will ignore that his heart skips a beat whenever Danny gets too close. Thank you very much. It's just a crush; people get those all the time.)
Once more for those in the back.
Colin & Isaacâs storyline in 3x09 đĽ°đłď¸âđ
I was never told about this scene???
I'M SO SCARED FOR APRIL 8th
Dc x DP where people with superhearing casually talk to each other from super long distances. Just talking out loud to open air and the other person eavesdropping on them so they can respond in the same way.
The problem with this method is that anyone with superhearing can tune in on their conversation and add their own input if they wanted.
Which Danny does often.
Superman is trying so hard to find this guy who keeps butting into his conversations but Danny can just turn off his heartbeat and stay quiet so Superman doesnât have anything to listen to to find his location.
Meanwhile Danny can keep track of where Superman is and how close he is to Danny because Superman canât stop his heart from beating or from breathing.
OH. Oh you have something brilliant going on here my guy.
Superman has been able to locate the mystery voice to somewhere in rural Illinois but without his heartbeat he can't quite pinpoint him.
After hearing the kid's stories of what happens in his day-to-day life, He's desperate to find and help this kid.
DP x DC idea
Y'all feel free to ignore this, I just gotta get this funky little idea out of my head.
So it's a reveal gone wrong....kinda. You see while Maddy is insistent that there's no way the ghost boy is her son, Jack is an emotional wreck. Apologizing to Danny for not noticing and for all the threats he hurled his way. He also promises to convince Maddy that Danny really is their son and not some ghost pretending to be him.
Maddy starts coming around and things are finally looking up for Danny, until Jack has to go somewhere and next thing he knows, he's strapped to a table.
Maddy is convinced that once she opens the ghost boy up, she'll be able to prove that he's just imitating life and isn't really alive. Then she'll show Jack and he'll believe her and they'll get back to proving how dangerous ghosts can be.
When Jack gets back, she excitedly rushes to him. Ready to show him her proof. Meanwhile a feel of dread builds up in the big man's chest as his wife's rant gets more and more maniac. They get down to the basement where there's Danny on the table. Except it's not the Danny he left, this Danny is a small baby with snow white hair and glowing green eyes.
Jack isn't even listening to his wife's explanation about how this proves this isn't their son, he just scoops the boy up and leaves.
Unsure of what to do and knowing both his wife and the giw will be after him, he goes to Vlad. Who despite his "hatred" for the two takes one look at Jack on the verge of a breakdown with baby Danny in his arms and immediately sets them up with a plan.
He sends them to Gotham with fake IDs because the ambient ectoplasm is enough to mask Danny's signature and it might even help him recover.
So they get there right and everyone around them is immediately like ???. Because where did this strangely energetic man and his giggly baby come from and why are they in Gotham of all places!?
Still, Jack's overall golden retriever energy wins them over and they think he's fine albeit a little eccentric. Until one night...
You see Danny is a baby, with the powers of a powerful half ghost, who doesn't understand that he has to hide his powers or the dangers of a baby wandering the streets at night. Cue the baby constantly turning intangible and just... slipping through the walls, leaving Jack to go running after him. Danny thinks it's a fun game. Jack thinks he won't be able to take anymore of this.
Unfortunately for poor Jack Fenton, one night during a Danny chase, he sees his boy heading right towards a fight. Between the bats and this weird guy dressed as a luchador with weird tubes sticking out of him. Then the luchador notices Danny, and Jack is brought back to that day a couple of months ago. The day he failed to protect his son. He's not going to let him down again so he does the only thing he can think of.
He absolutely bodies the luchador, scoops his son up, and runs. Not stopping until he's safely back in his rinky little apartment. Danny is giggling and making cooing noises, blissfully unaware.
Meanwhile the batfam is in shock about this huge man who came out of nowhere and just dealt with Bane like he was a nuisance more than anything. This definitely requires some investigation.

Dpxdc prompt
When the batfam tracked down the Riddler they were expecting puzzles and riddles and a âif you make a mistake then a hostage diesâ situation.
What they got was no hostages and a broken Edward Nigma staring dazed at what probably used to be a trap muttering about how he was âa frog in a well all alongâ.
Now the bats need to track down the hostages whoâd apparently just walked themselves out.
Starting with the hostage that had apparently beat the Riddler at his own game, a teen named Wes.
I finally wrote my prompt I sent to @stealingyourbones back in November! well part of it. This is just chapter 1, so this gets a summary @dpxdcshipweek
Edit: forgot to say that I got help with the usernames from the wonderful @tourettesdog and @half-dead-ham! (If I'm wrong it's bc I'm not at home rn to look at my notes)

Summary: Danny has always had more internet access than a child really should have had. He tended to spend that time on game forums and different websites dedicated to space. Everyone once in a while he'd venture onto one about heroes and villains. That's how he met Tim Drake-Wayne or BatShadow as was his username back then.
Danny just wanted to see uncommon pictures of Superman. It really shouldn't have been this hard. He's an alien, there should be a lot of pictures of him. Frustrated with his lack of results he resorts to looking for the pictures through unpopular social media websites that should have new pictures. His first look didn't meet his goal, and before he could even think of trying again he was distracted by a post. It was a picture of a figure swinging between skyscrapers, backlit by neon light all against a smog filled sky. It was stunning and made all the more captivating by the identity of the subject in the photo. A picture of Batman, The Batman, taken in a way that you couldn't deny it was him. That was impressive on its own, but the quality is what made it shine. Danny had to see if the account had more pictures of Batman, or even other heroes. Looking at the blog, hoping it wasn't a deactivated user, he finds the posts of BatShadow.Â
The blog is a gold mine of pictures of Batman and Robin with some villains the duo we're fighting. All with stunning quality, with each subject undeniable as who they were but still giving a sense of privacy. Sadly, Danny couldn't find any other heroes pictured, but Danny could live with that. Batman was his third favorite hero, he blames Sam and all her knowledge on the edgy and obscure. She would be ecstatic about these photos, too bad he wasn't going to tell her. He was being petty. Sam should have known better than to say he couldn't keep a secret, so this is his secret now! Pettiness aside, Danny was going to message BatShadow to see if they had pictures of other heroes they hadn't posted.
Messages begins with BatShadow
ConstellationCruiser:
(04-17-20xx)
Hey, sorry to bother ya
I just saw your posts and was wondering if you have any pics of superman
BatShadow:
I don't know. I would have to look. I don't usually go to an area with him in it much, so no promises.
ConstellationCruiser:Â
Thanks!! And that's fine really, it's just that your pics are amazing
BatShadow:
Thanks! Sorry, I have nothing for Supes.
ConstellationCruiser:
Damn
It's fineÂ
I wasn't really expecting much
I'm just surprised at the quality and quantity ya got there
BatShadow:Â
It's super hard to get them without being caught but so worth it!
Danny continued talking to BatShadow about pictures and superheroes. Eventually switching to personal interest. Danny learns that BatShadow skateboards and in turn he tells them all about the stars. By the end of their conversation it was well into the night, Jazz wasn't going to be pleased. It was worth it though.
â-----
Danny ended up messaging again the next day, and the day after that. The other user was interesting and he was just so broad. Especially during these long summer days where Sam was off at some gala trip and Tucker was on vacation with his family. His parents being busy in the Lab at all hours and Jazz working a summer job didn't help. Even with Jazz trying to get him out of the house but it never really was worth it. Not with Dash and his gaggle out. Not without his friends there.
It's not like anyone besides Jazz would care about what he was doing online. Their parents were too caught up in drawing out plans and blueprints for a ghost portal or something. He doesn't care, it's more of the same for him. Don't get him wrong, he loved his parents and they loved him. They just pay more attention to their inventions, and this one happens to be one Danny can't help out with.
He's getting distracted. Danny was supposed to be cleaning the lab, not thinking of long gone days. It was taking way longer than he thought it would. His parents really aren't as careful with their samples as they really should be. After cleaning spilled ectoplasm from the vent grates he will finally be done, then he can get on the computer and add BatShadow on Steam. They were going to play Portal 2 together later.
â----
Tim didn't think he would still be talking to ConstellationCruiser. It was unexpected, but not unwelcome. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, (if there was anyone to talk to in the first place), but he was lonely. So, sue him if he got attached to the other kid with too much free time on their hands. They may not have told each other their ages but it wasn't hard to figure out, they talked too similar.
It was nice to really connect with someone his age. ConstellationCruiser was smart like him, just in different areas. He had learned more about the stars and space travel in the last handful of months than he ever had in his 12 years of life. He knows he wasn't any better, going on about hacking and maybe the new murder mystery that came out. It was fun, learning about the other's interests and different things than what's normal for them.Â
ConstellationCruiser's parents seem to have some type of lab in the basement of their house, which was cool in concept but concerning in practice. There have been times where they had to stop in the middle of a game they were playing together to check on an explosion they heard. It happened more than Tim was comfortable with but there's nothing he can really do about it. It's not like he was anyone better about certain aspects of his life either. He avoided the topic of food as much as possible, though it seems ConstellationCruiser is doing the same thing with the topic.
Tim just hopes the other won't worry over him not responding the next couple of days. He probably should warn them but this is time sensitive. Batman needs a Robin. The man is running himself into the ground. His new found grief choking him and by extension Gotham. He has to convince Nightwing to come back, no matter what it takes.
