New Witch Resources

I’m gonna say it again, I made a google doc full of online resources for new witches!

Manifesting more environmental activists while actively promoting it sounds like it’d work. And there’s so many spell ideas possible that double as something that incorporates reducing, reusing, repairing and other stuff like that!

It would make a cool new path people can follow too!

There’s just so many possibilities that I wanna talk about!

Stopping the big oil corporations is definitely a must, ofc we can’t just stop them in their tracks like that. But I do believe that a large amount of people can cast spells to present issues. Like stopping as much of their sales as possible. Which isn’t really enough to stop but it’s still something that can cause problems and stress. Or cast spells to get more attention in real life or on the internet and start sharing about the environmental impact they cause. Add some persuasion to it too! Then we can get people to rethink and possibly refuse to buy/use their stuff. I really don’t know much about how big oil corporations work, other than the fact that they extract oil and sell it. I’m not sure if their target audience is big companies or individuals or a mix of both so feel free to correct me. But yeah, cause some issues, make them lose money.

now for spells. I know a lot of witches already reuse jars but I don’t see any other container? Glass isn’t the only thing you can use after all (As long as you don’t put it in the ground, i’m talking about plastic) The plastic container for gum could be used for a spell instead of being thrown away, old clothes can be cut up and used to make sachets (I’ve only seen a few people doing this?) if you don’t donate it, I know lots of witches do this but repairing things with intention as a spell is amazing, manifest a meatless meal once a week if you can.

And a lot of witches buy crystals without knowing if they come from an ethical source or not. Or if they’re mining too much crystals from one area. I feel like we need to do something about that. We also need to start telling people that they don’t have to have crystals. In my experience, an enchanted rock with a sigil or rune drawn on it works.

I’m sure someone has done this before. Planting something with the intention that something will grow as the plant grows. Now imagine something like team trees but with for each tree, there’s an intent set that helps the climate change issues.

It’d be very nice if we could make Antarctica just a little colder too.

Ok so weather magick is possible, so can we get a bunch of witches together, or have as many witches as possible preform some spells together to slow down global warming?

Not cast spells with the intention of “ending climate change” I mean like, spells for colder weather, cursing the top 1% every time they make a decision that hurts the environment, just being environmentally friendly, manifesting more environmental activists and people actively trying to reduce their carbon footprint, stuff like that.

It’s just a thought but if we can get enough people, it’d be possible right?

⛈️ Weather Lore ⛈️

Part I

Weather patterns have been noted and studied for hundreds of thousands of years. Meteorology has transformed from folk lore and observation to a well-understood science. However, Weather Lore remains an ingrained characteristic of many cultures. Some longstanding beliefs about weather patterns and weather predictions include:

1. “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning.”

This popular nautical saying is used to predict poor sailing weather. A red sunset indicates that sunlight light from the west is shining through the clouds to color the sky. This means that precipitation-heavy clouds are not present. A red sky at dawn, however, can be the result of light reflecting off of cirrus ice crystals in the clouds in the upper atmosphere, signalling incoming precipitation.

2. “Sharper the blast, sooner ’tis past.”

This old piece of weather lore refers to cold fronts. The belief dictates that the colder and/or harsher a front comes in, the sooner it will end.

3. “If there is a halo round the sun or moon, then we can all expect rain quite soon.”

This is a pervasive saying that is regarded as accurate. Meteorologists have determined that the so-called “halo” seen around the moon and/or sun is caused by light reflection off of cirrus ice crystals in high atmosphere clouds. Cirrus clouds are often the first sign of oncoming precipitation.

4. “If in the sky you see cliffs and towers, it won’t be long before there is a shower.”

Vertical clouds, referred to as “cliffs and towers” in the saying, are a sign of unsettled air in the atmosphere. Unsettled air is a sign of imminent active weather.

5. “If woolly fleeces bestow the heavenly way, be sure no rain will come today.” 

This saying refers to fluffy white (cumulus) clouds in the sky. Generally, when cumulus clouds are present it is a sign of calm weather. Hence the nickname for cumulus clouds; “fair-weather clouds.”

6. “When the icy wind warms, expect snow storms.”

The arrival of warm air during the winter can signal a low pressure system, which often brings active cold precipitation.
