Anyways, Albert, who shoves his hands in his pockets and sits on his knees whenever he feels the need to stim or move because he thinks it's embarrassing and feels the need to hide it away.

But then Race starts to take note of this and tries to show him that stimming is okay and a totally normal occurrence by holding his hands away from his pockets and stimming along with him if he ever does within his vicinity.

Something that's starting to happen more often is Albert letting it out at night. They'd both be lying in bed, and Albert would hit his fists against his thighs and shake his foot repeatedly to regulate after a long day.

Race would always wrap his arms around him tightly to apply pressure and help out a little when he does the above.

ok so. jack was denied physical touch for all of his life, and the newsies aren't really big on it. jack sought out physical touch through playful slaps and shadow boxing, and flopping his arm over someone's shoulder as inconspicuously as possible.

Davey sees straight through it ... and he lets jack do his thing. lets jack shadow box him and rub his shoulders and offer to give him back massages and beat him up out of love ... because he knows jack needs that kind of validation ... (meanwhile jacks thinking he's the most inconspicuous guy ever)

so when jack starts gravitating towards davey, davey takes that as a success . jack feels safe around him ... and davey knows, especially regarding jacks past, that this is a feat. to be this close with jack, who only ever let his walls all the way down around crutchie ...

and when jack confesses thag he has feelings for davey, Davey can't help but celebrate on the inside. sure, he's had feelings for jack for ages too, but davey takes the greatest joy in the fact that he is one of jacks few safe people ....

Javey go stargazing on top of a building, the feelings are big and raw and decidedly there. Davey compares jack to the stars and jack doesn't know how to respond. Jacks emotions are so big he doesn't know how to express it with words, so he expresses it with touches. Lying down shoulder to shoulder with Davey, sitting them both up just so he can gently trace his knuckles over the perfect curves and corners of davey's face. The reflection of the galaxy in his eyes, the breeze tossing pollen and dust over his features.

Jack doesn't know how to deflect, as he does with so many things, the way Davey's eyes fill with absolute love when he looks at jack. He's never seen this much love come out of one person, directed at him. The city can't see them up on top of this building, the newsies aren't here to laugh and jeer and make fun of jack when he fits himself into Davey's shadow sometimes.

And he might only get this chance once.

He kisses Davey like it's the last time he'll ever see him, like when the sun begins to rise, Davey will dissolve into the morning air.

Davey kisses back, smiling like he's meeting an old friend.

On that night they feel complete. So fully, truly complete.
