I know I said that I wouldn't post about that movie again. But fuck it I'm still shock about how much I hated it. So bear with me for a little while.

Let make myself crystal clear: Sam doesn't trust in Valentina, he doesn't trust in the government and he doesn't trust in the shitty avengers either (excluding bucky I hope). So why would he accept them as avengers? he is protecting the legacy of the avengers, legacy that guess what? Bucky asked him to protect. So no, he isn't overdramatic about a name, he isn't been petty or bitchy; he is doing what is right.

Another thing: " the OG avenger weren't saints either" beach you better be joking. Are you really throwing Nat, Tony, Steve, Thor, Clint and Bruce under the bus to save face for those misfits? I know you're lying. They were not saints but at least they didn't kill for money or because their boss says so (we had Nat but she's different).

"Steve would support this team" hell yeah because Steve biggest dream was always be the puppet of the government. You should rewatch CACW btw you missed the plot.

"Valentina doesn't control them, they own her life" bs you really think that the team made of mostly morons could control a manipulative and strategic harpy? yeah good luck with that.

And finally you hating Sam more than Valentina is outrageous. She is the villain, I'll say it again: SHE IS THE FUCKING VILLAIN, the monster who tried to kill your "favorites and white heroes", but your racism doesn't let you see that so you direct the hate to the black hero who isn't even shown in the movie.

The funny thing though is that I was really excited for the movie. Hell I even bought the tickest in presale and for a 3D screen. And for what? for this shit that made me angry and made me cry just for frustration. So, sorry I didn't like and I won't spend another peso in that shit. So fuck you racists, fuck you Marvel and fuck you Sam haters. I'll see y'all in hell.

Btw DC's Suicide Squad never called itself the Justice league. They are the Suicide Squad and that's it. So Thunderbolts could have done the same 😒😒😒

The BNW cinematography was better than in Thunderbolts. I can be biased but fuck you, you can't change my mind.

I want to highlight the fact that this movie has more symbolism and atmosphere packed into it than any "successful" marvel movie (read: movie lead by white males) because of how well they used the colors, light and shadows, and how well the framed and positioned the characters. the fact that one of the major critiques against cabnw was that it was shallow and bland is absolutely baffling to me and no doubt is result of insane racism of white marvel fans.

I saw Thunderbolts on Labor's Day (May 1st) which is a holiday in my home country so it was a free day for me. I should had stayed at home, I should had went to the beach, hell I should had went to do hiking. But no my stupid ass decided to go and watch that movie. So I wasted my free day for nothing; and now I'm at work tired, frustrated and mad 😑🙂

Not really blown away by any of this fight choreography, or the filming of it.

Antonia says literally one line before she's killed. Imagine dragging the actress out for the premiere for this. Extras have more lines

What was it that the senator called Val's plan? Sounded like 'Guardians of Vengence propaganda'. Google translate of the subtitle said Guardians of Revenge. But can't quite hear it clearly.

Bucky wasn't as creepy as I thought he would be with Mel. But still kinda creepy. Where's the tactfulness?

Also... he does sound rather stupid

Hmm, at least Ghost calls Walker out when he says "Actually I was the official captain america"

Ghost says "Before you publically murdered an innocent man on the streets" (he says 'define innocent' 😡)

Walker is completely insufferable

Bob says: "I thought you said you were Captain America"

Okay, Bucky does seem a bit creepy with Mel

When they're climbing up the shaft it would've been so easy to add the line "Would be easier if one of us had wings... you know who has wings? REAL Captain America"

Particularly the part where John attacks, then Bucky. Their movements are so slow and stilted, then has this CGI glaze look to it when they're thrown around. Bucky does not seem like a good fighter here

Wow knocking Bucky out with his own arm is just... mean. Plus carrying him out isn't very dignified

Okay, the first appearance of the Void was quite good. See? I can be nice.

The applause was a bit much though 🙄

We really don't get to know what was in Bucky's room...or Ava's... or well I don't care about Alexei

I'm not really feeling this 'defeat the mind rooms with the power of friendship' thing

I'm pretty sure Void says "Robert the hero", but the subtitles said "Robert De Niro" 🤣😂

This whole group hug moment might actually have meant something if we saw what the other's personal demons that they just overcame were

When did Valentina get all the press there? I saw her have the spark of the idea, but the whole city was enveloped in the void? Stupid

And the announcement is still ridiculous. I can't believe Bucky just stood there and said nothing. Should've taken a mic and done a Kanye "I'm gonna let you finish, but Sam Wilson ie Captain America, has the greatest Avengers team of ALL TIME"

And even if he didn't, in what world would Bucky not say "No, we're not the Avengers. Valentina is a crook and here's the evidence. She's trying to save her own ass. Arrest her."

Yelena saying "We own you now" How does that help? She's not going to cooperate. You can't ever trust her. She'll always have her own motives and will be trying to get rid of them.

Final thoughts

That's it? There really wasn't that much action and the fight scenes that were there were very...inert. They lacked visual interest, interesting choreography, seemed glazed in CGI despite all the promo saying how gritty and real this film was supposed to be

Overall it just seems like a very pointless movie. With pointless characters.

Yelena and Ava would maybe be nice additions to Sam's team. John and Alexei can gtfo

Bucky's sleeping on the couch until further notice.

If they were going to have Bucky damage, if not outright, destroy his best friendship with Sam over these misfits, then the film really needed to SHOW why Bucky felt invested in helping them redeem their past crimes. Currently he feels like he has no motivation or real connection to them. I literally just finished watching and I can't remember if he even exchanged dialogue with Yelena or Ava outside of group responses.

Anyway. That's it.

P.S. I stand by a prior post of mine, where I said this could've been a Captain America movie. Sam could've helped Bob just fine.

I have now watched Captain America: Brave New World TWICE and have come onto Tumblr to say: that was not our timeline, that was not our universe!

This movie feels so out of place in the tl (and not just because MCU has been doing nonsese lately) but this movie feels even more out of place then all the others.

The only reason this one even felt like an MCU movie is because they kept reminding me, otherwise it's no different to the other movies they've made that weren't technically part of the tl but are somehow part of the multiverse.

Stern talking about other universes cemented it for me. He's probably there like "Hey Sam, in another universe your transition to Cap is a lot more simple, and then in another universe you're not Cap at all".

I know I'm probably not making sense, but this movie is not from the main tl, this is a completely new timeline do not correct me

They claimed Sam talking down Ross was stupid, and not why we watch superhero movies and serum blah blah blah.

Bob is literally defeated with a group hug. And I’m not talking “all of them converge on him and fight him”, it’s literally a hug that shows him he’s not alone.

The final blow is literally the same thing. Remind them of their humanity, but trained counsellor Sam Wilson talking down someone who was trying to fight the monster inside was “unrealistic”, but a bunch of misfits hugging a mentally ill man was “genius”. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So that been said, what really surprise me is that they really believe they could be the Avengers, that a bunch of killers and mercenaries could be equall to the Avengers. So at the end I watched Thunderbolts.

Was a good movie? Yes

Is it the best Marvel movie? No

Am I still angry at the PCS? Hell yeah

Anyway I like BNW better, I could be biased but I don't care. I'm súper curious about how they are going to "fix" Sam and Bucky's relationship in Doomsday.
