Touya is still in Pain

Touya/Dabi is portrayed in an extremely vulnerable light this chapter.

He’s ripping his hair out, crying, with a helpless mouth open/(perhaps grin?), hand stretched out, calling for help and scarred tissue already appearing. He’s looked from a high vintage point, as if the audience is looking down at him from above.

In the next one we Dabi’s scarred back, examining the new scars on his wrists/hands. His back is almost completely covered with scars, his white hair stark against his back. Showing one’s back has always been a sign of vulnerability.  By looking at his new scars, the readers understands he’s in pain that has new wounds to add to the already massive collection of scars. the tilt of his head is contemplative yet resigned, like ‘Ah another one.’ His hand here is contrast to the one above, curled and concealed, no longer reaching. 

By revealing this more helpless side of Touya/Dabi, Hori not only gains more sympathy from the audience, but also showcases how Dabi is still that hurt child, but he’s no longer calling out for help, after having been hurt for far too long. 

If "It's Hell", then...

you shouldn't hate villains/abusers, they're literal demons who act like they're supposed to;

you shouldn't care if characters are abused, Hell is a place of suffering;

Lucifer, Asmodeus and Beelzebub shouldn't be good;

Mammon shouldn't be the most despised Sin in the fandom;

Satan shouldn't have anger manager;

ancient immortal beings should act accordingly, not like children;

there should be no rehabilitation centers, hospitals, etc.;

there should be no economy and laws;

anarchy reigns supreme here, chaos' everywhere!

love is unacceptable;

affection and empathy aren't normal, no one cares about each other's feelings;

there is no such a thing as marriage;

there shouldn't be so many healthy relationships (M&M, Fizzarozzie, Beetex, Chaggie + Millie's parents probably and maybe Lucilith at some point);

there shouldn't be so many naive/polite people (Fizz, Moxxie, Octavia, Charlie, Sir Pentious, etc.);

no one would applaud M&M at the end of their lovey-dovey song at Ozzie's;

none of Blitzø's exes should be mad that he didn't fall in love with any of them;

Paimon wouldn't try to cheer baby Stolass up by going to the circus with him and prove that he's good at 'daddying' (why would he even need this anyway?);

where are n@zis, terror!sts, pedoph!les, necroph!les and some other freaks? or are shitty dads/bosses/wives meant to be the limit of evil for you?

why do sinners have a chance to gain strength and power if this place exists as a punishment for their sins?

why do demons need to eat and sleep?

So I was rewatching the music video to Dos Orugitas when I noticed something.

We all know that each family members room (with the exception of Mirabel) is unique to them and their likings. Antonio likes animals and his room is a jungle. Isabella likes plants and her room is a garden and so on and so forth.

Well…………look at Abuleas

It looks just like the one her and Pedro shared in their old home!

It’s not big and spectacular like the others. It’s small and simple and reminiscent of the life she once had. A small bit of familiarity, where after a long day of duties and responsibilities she can go back in time to the life she once had. When she didn’t have an entire town depending on her. When she didn’t know miracles existed because she never needed one. When she was just a young girl living in a small boring completely ordinary house with her loving husband and beautiful children.

Because THAT is what she likes most.

Yeah, Zuko Alone is still one of the very best, if not the best, episodes of Avatar. The shocking and disturbing revelations about his family and backstory are riveting, the choreography of his fight with the earthbenders is incredible, and the choice to explore Zuko’s psychological trauma through the framework of a Western is brilliant. But above all, the moment when Li turns on Zuko and rejects him for being a firebender is so important, as it’s the first of many scenes in his path to redemption in which he tries to help but is ultimately rejected by those he saves. It’s such a pivotal episode for his character development, and it’s still one of my favs.
