3.2.17// long and quite productive day. I had an intense seminar in the morning and I´m quite satisfied with my speaking. Then I had a long study session in the library (from 2 pm to 7 pm), I´m so deep into my readings, I´m working on Röggla´s Essenpoetik Essays and it´s just the beginning. Next week I want to collect all my readings so that I can start building a bibliography and writing my paper. I also found an awesome Spotify playlist, so calming, inspiring, so good for focusing! Soundtrack: Intense Studying playlist on Spotify
17 may 5:20pm // been on the up-and-up since I handed in my first draft of my history IA… extended essay research and sat II revision, here I come!
This is what Republicans try to demonize for political gain. Think about it.
03/26/16 // 9:15am // My outline for my philosophy paper on William Lycan’s essay, Robots and Minds, it’s actually a really interesting topic! One of my favorites from the semester so far for sure. Next step, actually writing the paper hahahaha ohno

It just hit me how utterly terrified I am of Trump becoming president.
I’m so terrified that I’m actually crying. Crying.
My bigoted father voted Trump. My mother voted third-party. I’m going to vote today, for Hillary, but I’m so, so scared of Trump winning.
How oblivious do you have to be to think that he’s a good person, a good president? He hates everyone. Yeah, Hillary fucking sucks, too, but at least she has experience in political offices and at least she’s not racist, misogynistic swine who’s going to dump us down the shitter. Worst case scenario with Hillary, we get a bad president for a few years and that’s it, but Trump? Trump’s power-hungry, trigger-happy, homophobic, misogynistic, greedy, perverse, list goes on and on.
And if you wanted to vote for Bernie, well guess what? He’s told us to vote Hillary. And don’t write him in, either. Write-ins for Bernie literally. Will. Not. Count. If you supported Bernie Sanders, listen to him.
And more importantly, vote.
For fuck’s sake, if you sit on your ass because “there’s no way Trump can actually win,” he will.
I had this girl in my class and she was considered to be like really dumb. She’d ask a ton of doubts and questions in class, which everybody would consider to be “stupid"and “silly” and even the teachers would often taunt her but she’d never stop asking. But the thing was that she’d almost always top the class examinations and everyone was like???? They all thought she was cheating and stuff and obviously even the teachers were very biased because she wasn’t so ‘smart’ in class, and she was regularly accused of cheating. But nobody could prove that she was actually cheating but the whole class and teachers totally believed that she did. I’m pretty socially awkward so I never really talked to her, but she was leaving school this year and I was genuinely curious about how she was so good during exams and how she didn’t let everyone’s remarks affect her. She always used to sit and hang out with only one girl, and she told me that that friend of hers was severely socially anxious and she’d lag in studies because she couldn’t bring herself to ask doubts in class or ask for help from others. So they had this system where during lectures her friend would write down any question she had, and she would ask them for her. And I was just so touched??? Idk but it really changed the way I looked at people?? This girl endured taunts and jeers and borderline bullying for being “stupid” when she was actually really smart and could easily have refused to ask such doubts for her friend but she did?? And brushed off everything others would throw at her for her friend?? I was just, idk it just really changed me in some way.
break is a time to relax and destress from school, but it’s also a good time to catch up on work and boost yourself up with studying!! here are some tips to help you out :)
i cannot emphasize this enough. make a plan. i would suggest printing out a calendar and planning out each day. are you going on vacation? mark it on the calendar! have a doctor’s appointment or a party you were planning on going to? mark it on the calendar! calculate the remaining days you have left before school starts again. figure out which subjects to tackle on which days and if you have spare time on the days that you do other things.
be realistic. don’t expect yourself to read through 6 chapters, take notes, do 2 projects, and write 7 essays in one day. not only is this discouraging at the end of the day, it forces more stress on you. space things out. if a subject is more intensive and requires more focusing and studying, allot it more time; perhaps even a full day. remember: you have to eat, drink, sleep, take breaks, etc etc like every other person, so don’t cram your studying in too much.
plan your projects out step by step. figure out when you’re going to finish your assignments. determine what days you’ll read through chapters. figure everything out.
keep some time to relax. after all, it is a break. plan some fun things to do!! you could read a book that you never had the time to read before! you could practice an instrument more! reconnect with your family! you could watch a movie that you wanted to watch or hang out with your friends! the possibilities are endless; it’s your break.
if you planned to study biology for an hour, study it for an hour. don’t cheat yourself out on productivity. it only brings you down :( you can always check your dash / feed later. log off your social media accounts and shut off your phone –> back to studying you go !! you can always take a break after that hour is up.
if you find that your house is too distracting for you, go to your local library or a small coffee shop for a change of environment. i personally love the library because they will usually have little study areas / cubicles, it’s quiet, and resources are always available.
start getting ready for school again a couple days before break ends. go to bed earlier. start waking up at the usual time again. fall back into your school routine. you may have slept in and relaxed during break, but it’s time to go back to school.
at least 5 days before school starts, i go over every assignment and project that i had to do. double check that you completed everything that you needed to do. if not, start doing it now. you have 5 days to do it! (which is a lot better than struggling to finish something the night before school starts)
i believe in you!! you can do this!!
hope this helped and good luck! if you’d like to request a post, go here and if you’d like to see more helpful posts, go here !! thanks :)
