Also oh my muffins, I was trying to find scenes in the show where they were in the same shot and almost all of them were hugs. They hug a lot. It’s initiated by Mikey most of the time, but I thought it’s really cool to see how chill Donnie is with it. Mikey is one of Donnie’s safe people, and that’s just?? So dear to me??

It happens from time to time, but never anywhere near what happened at the beginning of the movie, don't worry.

It's kind of like when someone pushes themself too hard and sprains an ankle or something. It's not anything serious, but it sure is a pain, and you need to take it easy for a few days.

It's the exact same principle with Mikey's ninpo.

Now, when I said "What if he had overextended his ninpo again," I was specifically referring to the Shredder event in Mikey's timeline. That happened when he was around twelve years old.

At that time, Mikey was still very new to using mystic powers. He'd only been working on it with Baron Draxum for maybe just less than a year, and he was nowhere near ready to take on someone as powerful as Shredder.

Of course, what choice did he have?

To make a long story short, Mikey basically jumped several levels in his ninpo training, a very difficult feat to accomplish and something that nearly killed him.

Nowadays, he's completely healed from the experience, with only faint scars on his arms, and his ninpo is now completely off the charts, especially for someone his age.

Mikey knows how to pace himself, and even though he tends to have those "sprained ankle" moments quite regularly, he would never push himself over the edge again, because he knows there's a high chance he won't be able to come back from that again.

That doesn't keep his parents from worrying though.
