ꪆ ⋆⁺₊ The promise to turn a blind eye earned Zatanna a wink from her friend. Selina was well aware of their differing politics on certain topics, but she also trusted her friend more than anyone else she knew. It was the mention of a "girls night out" that brought forth a sigh of yearning. "Tell me about it, Zee. Between your heroics, your magic shows, and my... extracurriculars, there's hardly been any time."

While it was no secret that those extracurriculars involved a good heist from time to time, Selina had also found herself busy with trying to figure out the enigma of the Batman. Not his true identity, perse, but she wanted to know what made the crusader tick.

"Tomorrow night, what do you say? We both get all dolled up, show the lesser sex of Gotham what they're missing and paint the town red?"

With how often Selina stopped over at her place, Zatanna should probably just put her name on the arm chair. The burglar sat in that exact one every single time she visited. It was like a cat settling into its favorite spot, a visual that she had to stop herself from laughing about. The cat motif matched her friend exceptionally. Was Selina cat-like from the get-go or had she started acting that way after taking on the name Catwoman?

"Since you saved my stage career from turning into a magic show on the corner of some street corner, I'll pretend to have no idea that you took all that jewelry." It wasn't the first time that Zatanna had turned a blind eye to Selina's criminal acts. She'd always been the type to believe in getting justice by any means necessary, even if it meant bending the rules at times.

"You just let me know when you have time for a girls night. It'll be the two of us in a fancy restaurant as a thanks for dealing with that jackass. Plus, it's been a while since we actually went out."

「 becoming a thief: At the age of seven, Selina was taken to the Gotham orphanage where she lived for three and a half years. Once she was eleven, she ran away, opting to live on the streets instead of at the mercy of the cruel attendants at the orphanage. Life wasn't easier, but she felt free. This is where she picked up the skills as a pick pocket which made her useful to a group of transient teens. They took her in, providing her safety while she provided them money for food.

At the age of fourteen, she was lucky enough to land a job cleaning tables at a diner. Being underaged meant that she was paid under the table which resulted in her being paid far less than she should have. Money was still money, though, and Selina was glad to have the opportunity.

It was at this job that she encountered a wealthy older couple one night. They'd just finished seeing a show at the nearby theater and needed coffee before returning to their upscale end of Gotham. The woman held no qualms about expressing her opinions freely, which extended to Selina's appearance. "Disheveled", "Unsightly", and "A disgrace" were among the finger points. Rather than feel insulted, Selina was transfixed by the woman's coat. A vintage mink fur coat that oozed opulence and superiority.

Selina is absolutely pro animals and usually opts for faux fur, but something about the coat on that woman begged for Selina to liberate it and reclaim it. She was patient, giving the wealthy couple pleasant smiles and staying out of their way, but at the end of her shift, she collected their credit card information from their bill. With that, she was able to find their home address.

It was that night that she broke into their mansion and committed her first home robbery. The experience was exhilarating, giving Selina a high she never felt. There was an element of power given to her that was usually missing her life. She later pawned off most of the belongings, but kept that coat.

After that, she was addicted to the art of robbery. Most of the money she made went into paying for upgraded tools necessary for bigger jobs as she refined her skills.

To this day, she still owns the mink coat. It lives in the back of her closet, a reminder of the power that she once saw and claimed for herself. 」

ꪆ ⋆⁺₊ The response Harvey gave earned him a knowing smirk from Selina. She wasn't bothered at all by the challenge. They were right after all - it was big talk. Fortunately for the catwoman, though, she knew she could back it up. There wasn't a safe in Gotham that she couldn't crack, and she prided herself on that. She only hoped that Harvey would keep their word and come through with her reward.

"Well then, no point in standing around here any longer," she replied. Trusting they would keep up, Selina headed down the alley towards a window that was left open. It sat near the ground, but led into a basement - the basement of the building they were going to rob.

She dropped in gracefully, then began to lead the way to another room. "I've already scoped the place out. Security is in this way. We just need to shut down the system before we can help ourselves to the vault on the third floor."

𝐔𝐏  𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄   the  minutiae  details  of  their  scars  ,  every  ridge  to  be  traced  it  told  the  story  of  that  day  ;  though  ,  in  reality  ,  these  scars  were  formed  over  years  .  Sure  𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐃𝐀𝐘  had  only  exposed  what  was  already  there  ,  hidden  beneath  the  once  seemingly  incorruptible  visage  of  HARVEY  DENT  !

𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐄  ...   CATWOMAN  had  a  reputation  behind  ,  maybe  not  quite  like  that  of  the  infamous  𝐓𝐖𝐎-𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄  but  it  was  still  enough  to  catch  his  attention  .  &&  She's  got  the  personality  to  boot  .  Hands  tucked  away  into  his  pocket  ,  long-tailed  coat  draping  towards  the  floor  &&  taking  drags  from  the  cigarette  between  his  teeth  &&  lips  .
