"We were teenagers in a war and it seemed so dreadfully romantic - star crossed lovers. A Death Eater and an Order Member, heir to the Blacks and a half blood werewolf. It was never real. It couldn't be, I was in love with his brother–" Remus sighed, a long exhale of breath as he looked off into space, "I still visit his grave, sometimes. Narcissa has been there a few times. We never spoke. She was… unexpectedly respectful, from the first time she saw me there."
the bitches traumatized by saltburn would never survive the fics in my ao3 history
james probably says “thank you god for this meal” before going down on regulus idk
Someone needs to write this (please)
Remreg brainrot is just me thinking how well Remus understands Regulus' precarious situation? Remus would get BOTH sides to his struggle. And I just think about Remus, who always calls Regulus out on his bullshit but is always reasonably kind about it. This doesn't mean he's not capable of shutting Regulus down when he needs to, though. I just think Remus would get it faaaaaar more than others would.
And i think about Regulus who is so motivated to brew Remus' wolfsbane. Who waits in his animagus form for Moony to approach, to see if there's any kind of deeper awareness. And when he gets the confirmation he needs, he turns back into himself, his human self and finds a tree for them both to sit under. AND THEY SPEND THE REST OF THE NIGHT SIMPLY BASKING IN THE PEACE AND SAFETY OF EACH OTHER'S PRESENCE — Regulus with his back to the tree and Remus/Moony having their head on his lap.
And it's the first time Moony AND Remus experience softness... The kind of gentleness they've longed to deserve in that form. It's the first time Moony is touched with love and care. And to have Remus feel Reg's cool fingers brush over his wolf's body. Regulus spends the night, sporadically kissing moony-remus' snout, and the top of his head too.
When Remus turns back, it's just as painful. But when he breaks down crying it's not because of it. It's because someone, Regulus, had watched him change into the beast that's always lurked beneath his fragile hold on his humanity... And he saw, and he waited, and then he came — just as loving. That his star sat down with him, and spent the whole night lovingly petting through his fur. That at wolf form, he was treated and held so gently. Something he has never, ever, thought he'd experience. He was, in all aspects, himself, all of him at once present — a beast, a broken boy, a scared teenager, a student that yearns for a life more than what society believes he deserves. And with him, waiting, with hands that hold him so dearly, was Regulus.
writing tip: when in doubt, throw in a dash, a semicolon, or a minor existential crisis.
