Decided to come up with some new Fury species by adjusting the canon Fury designs to be adapted to the following biomes: tundra, ocean, and caves.
Species One
Name: White Fury (aka Glacier Fury)
Inspired By: arctic hares, arctic foxes and polar bear cubs
Habitat: tundra and ice sheets
Breath Weapon: balls of hardened snow/ice
Diet: fish, lemmings and other small mammals, the occasional baby seal
Appearance: small (¼ the size of a Night Fury), short and rounded. They have a frill of small rounded auricles that help them hear prey under the snow, and large clawed paws for walking on and digging into snow and even permafrost. They are not good fliers and instead use their stunted wings to give them an extra boost when pouncing. Their scales are white with mottled light grey markings for camouflage, and in summer they migrate to ice sheets/glaciers.
Personality: very sociable with their own kind. They mate for life and will often share a den with several other breeding pairs, hibernating during the darkest months of the year in big piles. Their small size makes them wary of any creature that looks bigger than them. However, if one crouches down to their level and is patient, natural curiosity might just overrule their skittishness.
Species Two
Name: Smite Fury (aka Killer Fury)
Inspired By: leopard seals, killer whales and manta rays
Habitat: polar waters, mainly at the South Pole
Breath Weapon: electric stun blasts
Diet: fish, penguins, squid, seals and anything else they can catch
Appearance: long and slender, with wide ray-like wings that allow them to glide through the water with ease. They have long jaws filled with sharp teeth for holding prey. They are flightless, having lost their hind limbs, and their front limbs have evolved into flippers. Their tail-fins resemble a cetaceans’ fluke. They are excellent swimmers, graceful in the water, and hunt via ambush.
Personality: solitary and rather aggressive, particularly on land where they feel more vulnerable. Like most Fury species they are highly intelligent, and are capable of holding grudges. They choose a different mate every breeding season and give birth to live young. Being aquatic, they won’t attack humans on land, but woe betide you if you fall in the water near a hungry Smite Fury.
Species Three
Name: Bright Fury (aka Cave Fury / Flash Fury)
Inspired By: bats, glow worms, oilbirds and olms
Habitat: caves, but are also nocturnal
Breath Weapon: loud and bright bursts of fire, aka ‘flashbangs’
Diet: anything edible they can catch
Appearance: small (a little bit bigger than a Terror, but not by much) and highly manoeuvrable fliers. Their narrow, flattened bodies let them wriggle through tight spaces, and echolocation allows them to find their way in the dark/tell if a space is too small to fit through. They are all but blind, but have an excellent sense of smell and hearing. They also share the Night Fury ability to produce a blue glow, which they use to lure in prey, listening and smelling for it coming.
Personality: very sociable with their own kind, often living in large colonies like bats. However, they don’t take well to intruders, and when feeling threatened will use their ‘flashbangs’ to stun and blind. If all else fails they’re not above giving a nasty bite. You can earn their trust slowly by getting them used to your scent, but come prepared to deal with their blinding fire and needle teeth.
Chat is it socially acceptable to make a mha oc in our lords year 2024

I don't dabble much in Tidal class dragon species despite the endless potential of the sea, so here's the Icebasher! Based on ice breakers on ships, these dragons of the northern seas sometimes migrate towards warmer waters for mating season. Their horn allows them to cut through ice sheets as a way to mark territory and prepare hunting grounds.
I decided to take the Nico Marlet concept art of the Light Fury and expand it into its own species. This is an open idea so feel free to use it in your own AU.
Physical Appearance
Twirler Furies are smaller and stockier than NFs, with a longer tail. They are mottled grey on top and pale cream underneath. They have lobes like a Scuttleclaw or Zippleback running down the length of their bodies. Their tails have three extra, semicircular fins arranged in a spiral pattern. Their eye colours can be dark green, grey-green, various shades of teal, and grey-blue.
Habitat and Social Behaviour
They live on the coast in temperate to sub-polar regions. Twirlers live in packs consisting of two or three mated pairs and their offspring. To avoid inbreeding, females leave their packs when they reach maturity to find a mate elsewhere.
Diet and Hunting Behaviour
Whilst they do eat fish, Twirler Furies mainly hunt seals and will team up to take down walruses, narwhals and belugas. They are semi-aquatic and prefer to ambush their prey. The name ‘Twirler Fury’ comes from their favourite hunting strategy. Much like a crocodile they can perform a death roll, grabbing their prey and using their extra, spiralling tail-fins to help them spin around.
They also twirl in midair to evade/confuse threats or impress potential mates.
Concept art of the day! Meet the Grave Singer. They live in the rocky shores that cause a lot of ships to wreck and beach. They tend to nest in the hull of ghost ships and their songs are known across the Archipelago. Legend has it, their cries are those of people lost to sea.
