“Well, let it pass; April is over, April is over. There are all kinds of love in the world, but never the same love twice.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald, “The Sensible Thing” (via ackcity)
The floor seemed wonderfully solid. It was comforting to know I had fallen and could fall no further. - the bell jar, Sylvia Plath
And you stayed
That’s it, the end of it all.
You stayed.
You didn’t leave me.
What more do I have to say when that is the entire story.
After all the bullshit promises, after all the half assed attempts. You learn that it’s all a farce. That the most solid comfort will only come in solitude. So yeah you said that you would stay. You said you loved me, and you showed me you loved me.
That only means so much when you’re so worn down. But godamit you stayed. No caveat or price tag or running clock, you just stayed.
it’s true what’s been said
“when you know, you know”
for those who ask the question,
certainly do not “know”
for me it’s,
found
absolute
and full
maybe that resonates with some who “know” because if I know anything,
it is that I simply “know”
