It takes Glinda four hours to stop crying. It takes her four days to realize that Elphaba shouldn’t have died. It takes her four weeks to figure out what she’s going to do about it. And it takes her four years before she finally manages to succeed. 

It’s the longest four years of her life.

Glinda keeps her promise. She does not order Elphaba’s name cleared, and she does not issue a pardon. She allows her citizens their celebrations, but she also makes sure to see that all the posters are torn down, the banners burned, and the paintings scrubbed clean from any buildings. She erases all signs and evidence of the Wicked Witch and what she may or may not have looked like. 

She erases all signs of Elphaba, so thoroughly that, sometimes, Glinda sits in her room with a pen in her hand and a blank sketchbook in her lap, and she is afraid. She is afraid of forgetting.

Sometimes, Glinda has dreams. She dreams of rose petals and snowfall and secrets whispered into the night. There's a certain peace to these dreams, even if she always wakes to tears dripping down her face. 

Most of the time, though, Glinda has nightmares.

“What do you mean ‘leave’? Oz needs you!”

Glinda sighs, a hefty thing filled with hope and fear and longing and regret. It’s been years, and it’s been hard, but the truth is: Oz doesn’t need her anymore. Not the way it used to. It can last a few months on its own. 

“You’ll be fine,” she tells them. “Oz is in good hands.”

“Will you at least tell us where you’re going?”

The Good Witch turns her head to the west, her eyes finding the distant horizon. 

“I’m going home.”

Glinda sways, the adrenaline of the moment fading as she feels the weeks of travel, the months of planning, the years, really, of worry and guilt and sorrow and grief wash over her with the force of an avalanche.

It rumbles and breaks and crashes against her, burying her in hazy white that creeps over her vision so slowly she doesn’t even realize what’s happening until she feels herself fall, and the ground rush up to her as her world fades to black.

The last thing she sees is the unmistakable sight of green skin.

“You can let go now, Glinda,” Elphaba says. 

Glinda just shakes her head and buries her nose further in the dip of Elphaba’s neck. She can’t quite breathe, but the idea of letting Elphaba out of her arms terrifies her too much to care. She’s drowning and burning and slipping from reality, something like hysteria clogging up her throat. 

She can’t. She can’t she can’t she can’t. 

 “Glinda?” Elphaba’s voice has softened with concern as she realizes Glinda isn’t just crying. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m not going anywhere.”

Glinda doesn’t believe her. Can’t believe her. Because Elphaba has said it before. Elphaba has promised she wouldn’t leave her before. But she did. She left. And the moment Glinda opens her eyes or dares to let go, it’ll be like she died all over again.

And she just- she can’t.

glinda sees the wicked witch posters and tries to find a hint of her elphie, her freckles, her smile, her laugh, the way she scrunches her face together when she's concentrating

elphie looks at all the press releases from glinda the good and tries to find a hint of her first friend, her silliness, her snark, her energy, her adorable and enduring dramatics

they look all the time, trying to find some hint of the girl they used to know and love, and wonder if that girl is still around somewhere

Another one of my many headcanons is that Avatar spirits actually do get to roam the spirit world freely like 99% of the time. The only time they have to leave the spirit world is when the current Avatar needs guidance or when said Avatar goes into the Avatar state:

Kyoshi: *making out with Rangi in the spirit world*

Roku, in the physical world: Avatar Kyoshi, I seek your council

Kyoshi, pulling away from Rangi with a loud sigh: sorry, gotta take care of the newbie

Rangi, frowning: are you serious!? This is the third time this week! Can’t you just ignore him?

Kyoshi, trying not to laugh: he’s my direct successor, so the answer is gonna be no

Rangi, pouting: fine. Whatever

Kyoshi, kissing her cheek: I’ll be back as soon as I can

Exercises for all the homies who want to have a long career drawing.

The true problem with being an artist and drawing all day (as I wanted my whole life) is that human backs are not designed to hold that position, so it is very common for artists and designers to have really stiff shoulder blades, creating a chain of muscle strain towards the arm AND the back… and a lot of pain.

These are some physical exercises for artists and honestly anyone who works at a desk.

Question! With the part WAYYYY back in the beginning where the clan split into two, how'd you do that in game? Were some of them lost? Were they still in the same clan in game but you pretended they split? Or did you manually move them?

Okay so! I no longer have the screenshots of me doing this, but what I did was I made a new save file. I then copied all of the folders in VaporClan's save file folder thing and replaced the ones in the new save file with those. So I had 2 identical save files (with a different name)

I exiled Fire, Frost, Wolf and Fog in one save file. And in the other I exiled Rain, Branch, Soot and Mantis

When the Clans merged together, I added Rain, Forest and Pale into the VaporClan save file, leaving Ice alone in her own little save file (that used to be the MantisClan one.) This save file would be the one all her kids is born into. When the Clans merged and she went off alone, i played her save file alongside VaporClan to see what she'd get up to

The concept of Gliyeraba is so fucking funny bc Elphaba has spent most of her life being unloved by most people around her and then she gets to Shiz and now she has two idiots fighting over who loves her more.
