Sometimes I think about Kokichi's unwillingness to trust others, and I remember that at first he did. In the very first chapter he was willing to stay back, to let others handle things for the most part. When the time limit was approaching, he just left to sit alone in his room.
He trusted these strangers not to kill anybody, and then the person the most vocal about being friends and working together went behind everyone's back and killed a boy. Regardless of her intentions, he trusted her, and this trust was irreparably broken.

Can we talk about how much Shuichi idolizes and ignores people’s flaws (Kaede and Kaito) and just sees them as all great who’s words are never questioned? Why do you like or dislike this character?
Wellll me and Shuichi have a complicated relationship.....I sometimes really like him that he becomes my favorite character, sometimes really hate him but in general he's pretty good. I like him when he's around Kaito, Maki and some others but I just really hate him when he's with Kokichi. The way he treats Kokichi is absolute crap. I mean he doesn't give a single shit about Kokichi, he doesn't really want to solve Kokichi, just nothing. But the reason I like him is cuz he can be so chill/serious and anxious/kind/caring at the same. He also gets along with everyone goddammit he's so lucky....I think I just like the way protagonists act in general. But he's also kinda different from the other protagonists and it makes him even more interesting. Unlike the other protagonists, I feel like he has an actual lore. I'm not counting Hajime's "Izuru Kamakura" identity thingy cuz I couldn't care less...Oh, one more thing!!! Idk how to explain this but I sometimes find the way he acts quite funny lol. Uhmm idk what else to say but in general my opinions on Shuichi are like this.

I would say "You're alone Kokichi. And you always will be." but since he never actually said that in the original version of the game (the japanese version), I didn't choose that one. Hmmm....................this isn't really something Shuichi directly said, but in the Salmon mode you can choose options like "Let's read a dirty book." "Getting horny after a meal." "Ah, maybe we should take off our clothes?" and I found that really weird. I remember that there was an option called "Let's take our clothes off." in Goodbye Despair's Salmon mode too but it's obvious Hajime meant to say "Let's swim" or something like that. Shuichi just said that stuff cuz.....idk??

How Kaito Momota, the character I used to hate became my 2nd fav character
Well yeah I really used to hate him, even looked for posts to see if anyone else hated him or not. Tbh he already isn't very liked by the fandom so oh well. But why exactly did I hate him? 'Kay, this will be stupid, here we go. Cuz whenever I used to read a Saiouma story (EWEWEWEW-) I always saw Kaito get into the way by having a relationship with Kokichi. I thought Oumota was popular, so it pissed me off. Then I suddenly became more interested in this ship, searched read stories about the ship I used to hate etc. Lol I also hated Oumota, yes. I have this cycle of "hating to the thing, becoming attached and interested, it being my fav thing ever" just like my crush LOL- i actually never hated them nvm off topic- okay and i started liking the ship, eventually hating saiouma with all my heart. I still don't like saiouma, but I don't have a huge hatred on it. I just don't fucking care.

Why I Ship Oumota (Kokichi x Kaito)
As we know, kichi and momota-chan are the main rivals in the game. Kokichi seems like he's in a rival-like relationship with everyone, but theirs is the most obvious. So...is this the only reason?? Don't be stupid ofc not!!! But, as a Kyman (Cartman x Kyle) shipper, i seriously like the "enemies to lovers" or "frienemies" dynamic in general. I really don't find "friends to lovers" interesting AT ALL. I mean, people are always interested in the most impossible way of a relationship. You'll say, "but they were enemies before so they would totally fight when dating!!" anything can happen to anyone's relationship, broski so stfu pls. And no, I don't think it would happen if it's an actual real love over there. Tho if they're not dating, they will always pick up fights on eachother. People are usually the opposite inside from the person they seem to be like. For example, if a person hates gayness sosososo much, they're probably gay.
