No matter what project I'm working on (I have several right now, so please excuse the mess😨), Dollar always sits near me and chews on his beef bone. My #constantcompanion , he keeps my feet warm at night when he takes up the majority of my bed, he protects Leocadia, he scares coyotes away, and is a #spoiledrottendog But as soon as my brother comes home for a visit, Dollar quickly becomes his #bigpuppy Traitor. 🤣

In 2011, I made a glorious queen-size quilt for my first apartment with my then-fiance. It was a big project for a first-time quilter, but it worked out and has made me very happy. And I made a small #lapquilt for my grandmother for Christmas two years ago. I have been promising my mum a handmade quilt for YEARS now, but life kept interrupting, so I put this big project on the back-burner five years ago. I had bought most the fabric I thought I would need to make a simple block quilt with red, white, and blue square repeating pattern, but it ended up in boxes as I moved. Flash forward to two weeks ago. I was rifling through my craft hoard *ahem* stash and found the bag that contained all the fabric!😄 I realized that just simple squares wasn't going to do my work justice or her justice, so I made a plan and decided to sew my first #piecedquilt for her. She served in the Army and was a Field Artillery Officer, back when very few women had any major roles in combat positions. I am proud of her service and wanted to make a "patriotic" quilt for her. So, using the red, white, and blue fabric, I've come up with this! The quilt will initially be sewn on my sewing machine, then #handquilted by me. It'll be perfect as a throw blanket and fits a twin-size bed. I have the first row finished for the #quiltblocks and have 5 more rows to sew. It's been raining. Again. ⛆🌧🌫☔The pond has flooded over, I can't get out of my front yard (not pictured, 'cause no one wants to see that mess😐), I had to cancel the new contractor's work today, and I'm praying we don't flood. and in the interest of fairness, I’d like to investigate these claims

the angle of garnet’s left arm makes it so she can’t be holding amethyst. it looks like she may be holding pearl or watermelon steven, but let’s take a closer look

nope! stevenmelon has got it covered.  three points of contact, looks good. garnet’s right hand is nowhere in sight. anyway, we can see she’s not holding pearl’s hand when pearl reaches for jasper.

so i’m going to go ahead and conclude that she isn’t using her hands to support pearl, amethyst, or watermelon steven.  but we can’t actually SEE her hands, so I contend that her hands were otherwise occupied. here’s an artistic interpretation of how, and with what:
