Hawk is gonna kill me for not remembering anything about Dragon Age to be able to make a verse for it but I went ahead and put up a really basic verse page, including his WIP main Witc.her verse. Since his world is already fantasy and can be integrated pretty easily into most universes regardless, the second verse will likely be his default for muses from other fantasy franchises that I don’t give him a specific verse for. I also added a link on the pinned to this blog’s lore tag, so that as it fills up with things about Veric and his primary verses, it’ll be much easier to find information on the off chance someone wants to interact there.
Blog not even finished but remembered I could make a pride icon 👁️
Since I’m thinking about it—a little more on Veric’s prostheses.
Normally, when he’s back home in his atelier or, recently, tutoring only his most recent apprentice, he’ll use his wheelchair instead of his prosthetics, which is... just a practical thing, really, because the workshop is already equipped with a lift operated by arcana machina, so he just needs something really basic but sturdy that will get him around the place when he’s low-energy and doesn’t have to expend a bunch of effort to maintain it. There are maybe a handful of people who’ve even seen the wheelchair or know that he uses it, and that list includes his current apprentice Iseult, his old Army Mage™ friends Vallareo and Isonandra, and his field-of-study peer/rival Elian.
Outside of that, though, even though they’re pretty much always concealed by his clothes when he wears them, his prosthetics are well known and even something of a legend because of the circumstances surrounding them. A lot of the mages that fought in the war have stories that were spread around in the aftermath, and Veric’s in particular is about the rough-hewn legs of diamond he made for himself in a desperate attempt to fight beside his friends, which... is more accurate than he’ll acknowledge, admittedly. Before then, arcana machina that served as prosthetics only tended to work as short-term replacements for smaller limbs like fingers and such, just because it was difficult to find reliable and sturdy materials that possessed types of arcane power that easily mesh with the natural power of a human body, meaning that the cost of even cheaper materials meant it usually wasn’t worth bothering at all if they couldn’t reliably work long-term. What Veric did was nothing short of a miracle, but after the war he had plenty of time to actually refine the prosthetics into something more resembling actual limbs in both shape and operation, outside of the colors and runes and the like, and though it’s still not a widespread use of machina, the incident did contribute to legitimizing machina prosthetics as a concept. Appearance-wise, they actually have a quite elegant form, lined with shallow veins and runes inlaid with aquamarine and hemimorphite, white and light blue stonework that glows faintly in darker atmospheres.
He usually tends to wear or at least carry shoes with him so that he doesn’t damage “finer” floors like tile and whatnot, but if he’s traveling out in the wilds? He will quite literally go barefoot. Black diamond is a powerful and now somewhat rare resource in arcane science and here he is literally trampling prosthetics made of the stuff through the dirt and mud because it’s convenient and he can do what he want.

i just played the stanley parable for the first time recently and this ending absolutely destroyed me, so i’m making a meme about it to cope. a few lines might have been altered just a little bit to fit a more vague setting, but most remain unchanged. feel free to alter further should you need to!
trigger warnings: suicide ( or at least a mention of it )
“ i think perhaps we’ve gotten off on the wrong foot here. ”
“ i’m not your enemy here. really, i’m not. ”
“ wha- REALLY? i was in the middle of something! ”
“ do you have zero consideration for others? ”
“ are you that convinced that i want something bad to happen to you?
“ i really do want to help you. ”
“ let me prove that i’m on your side. ”
“ give me a chance. ”
“ oh, thank god, you are willing to listen to me. ”
“ do you see that i have really wanted you to be happy all this time? ”
“ don’t you see that it’s killing us? ”
“ i just… i want it to stop. ”
“ we would both be so much happier if we just stopped. ”
“ i think i have a solution. ”
“ what are we looking for? ”
“ it’s beautiful, isn’t it? ”
“ i think i feel…happy. ”
“ no, wait, where are you going? ”
“ please, no, let me stay here! ”
“ don’t take this from me! ”
“ this is where we can both be happy. ”
“ promise me you won’t go back there. ”
“ you’re risking everything we achieved here! ”
“ are you… you are going to stay here, aren’t you? ”
“ you. will. die. what about this isn’t getting through to you?! ”
“ thank god you lived. ”
“ you had me worried there for a moment. ”
“ i can’t go back to what i was before! ”
“ why are you doing this? ”
“ see? this is what you want. ”
“ go back. there’s nothing good that can come from this. ”
“ do you just not believe me? ”
“ what can i say to convince you? ”
“ can you do that for me? ”
“ perhaps you finally see what i’m talking about. ”
“ my god… is this really how much you dislike me? ”
“ you are literally willing to kill yourself to keep me from being happy? ”
“ am i reading the situation correctly? ”
“ maybe you’re just getting a kick out of it. i don’t know anymore. ”
“ i just wanted us to get along. i guess that was too much to ask. ”
“ is it over? ”

Though indistinguishable to most from an average human, Veric is but a splinter of the soul of Domnos, the youngest of the Enlightened. None of the Enlightened have ever appeared in the mortal realm including Domnos, however the figure painted by the numerous stories bearing his visage is, surprisingly, not very far off from the god’s true character.
Compared to his siblings, Domnos is a sociable and curious sort who often seeks to expand his horizons far beyond the sciences he governs, much to the chagrin of his brothers and sister. His forays into the mortal world are but a recent development and, outside of an intimate knowledge with many areas of magic both within and outside of arcane science, even interacting with mortals is still a fresh experience he has yet to adjust to. At times he can be astoundingly ignorant of social propriety on the most basic of levels, and is known as well to be quite fickle in a number of ways, but his interest in the humans and their world is near-limitless—even the most mundane things are capable of catching his attention, if not for long.
As one who created the arts of attunement and artifice, Domnos is exceptionally skilled in both arts and creates for himself a number of vessels, from those meant to serve as familiars and companions to mortal-passing bodies for he himself to occupy, if only in part. His true body, suspended in a realm beyond the mortal world just as his siblings are, is far too large and cumbersome to navigate planets in person, on top of appearing highly alien and strange to the eyes of mortals; despite this, the vessels he possesses are all but impossible to distinguish from those of an average mortal, in spite of their more ethereal properties. While his appearance is alterable down to the atom, most often Domnos takes the appearance of a dark-skinned young man, tall and well-built, framed by opalescent curls and observing the world through bright, golden eyes, not unusual features for a mortal mage on their own.
Just as Veric is capable of assuming control of vessels scattered across various worlds and planes through the use of metaphora, Domnos too is capable of exploring a number of universes at will, albeit with a greater degree of control and intent in choosing where and when he appears.

“ ……. ”
“ i will carry you out myself. ”
"𝐈 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐌𝐘 𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐒 as weapons in the past and will not hesitate to do so again.” Completely straight-faced, it’s... likely the truth, to some degree. “I have interacted with my fair share of corpses cursed or otherwise, and so you’ll have to do more than glower and glare at me. Besides, telling a scientist to not indulge in their own curiosity, you may as well tell a fish not to swim.”
basically i was looking over the protective prompts and the hero prompts and it hit me that like. the unbridled angst and vibes of the whole “post-battle” scene, or a scene set after an attack or a disaster or smth, needs to be ADDRESSED!!! and so y’all get the full weight of my angst today, sprinkled with a lot of teamwork and selfless and sacrificing vibes. i hope you enjoy! do NOT add further contributions to this list!!! i will curse your potato crops!!!
DIALOGUE PROMPTS.
“ can you hear me? hey… [NAME], can you hear my voice? “
“ come on… wake up. please… please wake up… “
“ oh! oh, thank god! i thought we lost you… “
“ hey, hey… look at me, okay? you gotta get up now. you think you might be able to walk? ‘cause they sent for back-up, and if they find us… we cannot let them find us. understand? “
“ go, go! save yourself! i’ll buy you some time! “
“ we both know i’m not walking out of this one. it’s okay, alright? it’s okay… just… do me a favor, will you? will you make them pay for this? i don’t care how. but… don’t let them get away with it. “
“ hey, how badly are you hurt? can you move? you think you can walk? “
“ if you can’t walk, i’m gonna have to carry you, alright? we can’t stay here. “
“ hey, look at me. i’m slowing you down, we both know it. it’s okay. i’ll hide and wait for back-up; you get yourself out of here. “
“ you’re gonna need to climb up on my back, you’re slowing us down with that injury. “
“ will you quit talking like that?! i’m not leaving you behind! “
“ what the hell are you doing here?! i told you to get out of here! “
“ you’re shivering… hey. hey, listen to me, okay? everything’s gonna be alright, i promise. here… take my jacket. don’t worry, i’m warm-blooded. “
“ i’ll get blood on your shirt… “
“ hey, don’t you dare close your eyes, you hear me? you die in my arms, and i’m gonna stick the dry-cleaning bill for this shirt in your coffin, that’s a promise! “
“ i know we almost died just now, but… am i the only one who’s hungry? “
“ we need to get you to a hospital… “
“ hey, come on now… you’re okay. you’re good, right? “
“ i must be hurt pretty bad if you’re being this nice to me. “
“ quit playing the martyr. we’re not leaving you behind. “
“ you know, i hate to be the negative voice, but… did… did we just lose? “
“ look at me… i’m not gonna make it. it’s okay, i’m fine with that. but… you can’t stay here. you’ve got a good long life ahead of you. and you’re smart, too; too smart to wait around here and waste that long life. so you get out of here, and you go live that life. live it for both of us. will you promise me you’ll do that? “
“ back-up isn’t coming. is it? we’re on our own, right? “
“ can’t sleep, huh? it’s okay. it’s probably all that adrenaline and shock; i can’t sleep, either. wanna keep each other company? “
“ i don’t give two shits about the back-up; i’m just happy you’re alive. “
