Prop 22, America’s most expensive ballot campaign, prevents Uber and Lyft workers from being reclassified as “employees” under a new California labor law. The law requires an unprecedented 7/8ths majority in the state legislature to alter, and it severely limits workers’ ability to organize and negotiate. For companies looking to maximize profit through lower labor costs, they may soon be able to reclassify employees as “independent contractors” (or gig work).

tldr: the Internet Archive/WayBack Machine is super important in term of archived content, billions of stuff are on there, and with the current event happening in the world like stated above,without this tool, it will be hard to properly document what took place. Hey everyone. It’s honestly humiliating having to be here once again begging for money, yet here I am. I am a mentally ill, trans/nonbinary and bisexual black mixed person struggling to pay for their medication and doctors bills.

(this doesn’t even include the additional $80 bill I have for my general physician)

I currently have $21 which isn’t even enough to pay for one of my medications I need to function. I especially cannot afford to go off antidepressants cold turkey because that will force me to go through horrible withdrawals.

I do have the possibility of a better job lined up, but it’s not a guarantee. I have exhausted all my options at this point. I am frustrated, I am scared, and more than anything I am tired.

To cover me till the rest of the year I have a lofty goal, but it’s in the hopes that it will give me the wiggle room I need to pay for food, gas, hygiene products, pet food, my meds, and future bills without putting myself in further debt. My goal is $1000, but literally anything is gonna be a big help to me at this point.

Well, hi. It’s the admin, and I’ve been busy with some important work.

You might not have known before this, but I am a Filipino, and our country has been dealing with the rising COVID cases and typhoons one after the other by incurring debt, hoping that this government would give us support, and fighting to have our voices heard. Except a typhoon hit us particularly hard. I have no idea whether you’ve seen the videos of the people trying to survive a drowning city. I have no idea whether you saw how inhumanely the people were treated. (I’m talking about the helicopter that just dropped off relief goods then left.)

We, citizens, had enough and took to social media to start donation drives. And your ADPG admin? They founded a youth-led charity organization, SAPPHELPS. 

We badly need your help. We are feeling hopeless, and they’ve projected more typhoons coming our way. We lost people to terrible disaster mitigation and response. We’re in the recovery stage and we need your help.
