Send Me ‘What If’ Scenarios For My Muse To Answer.

Hey  guys  I  don’t  know  if  anyone  has  made  a  post  about  this  yet  so  I’m  going  to:  Please  block  the  blog  reblogginganyway,  post  haste.  Just  like  the  URL  implies  its  reblogging  posts  that  people  do  not  want  reblogged.  I  find  this  one  in  particular  to  be  souly  malicious  because  its  going  as  far  as  to  take  screen  shots  of  content  under  read  mores  and  in  tags  to  attach  to  the  post  so  even  if  you  delete  the  post  your  content  will  still  be  on  their  blog  regardless. 

What do you think of paragliding?

Korr: From what little I know about it, seems like it would be fun. Easier to just morph a flying thing, though.

My only annoyance with her is some of her morph descriptions. Birds do not have backwards knees; what we think of as the “backwards knee” sometimes is actually the equivalent of the human heel. And horses and other unguligrades (hooved animals) don’t have four knees. The “knee” of the front leg is the equivalent of the human wrist, or the carpus. I mean, really, if you’re going to write about humans turning into animals, do your research on animal anatomy

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that K.A. Applegate might be the only sci-fi writer EVER who both (a) condemns the mass killing of aliens even if they are attacking the earth AND (b) shows why it’s sort of necessary in the situation?

It seems like too many other sci-fi stories go the route of Avengers or Doctor Who (S1) or Independence Day where a protagonist wiping out thousands of aliens is portrayed as uncomplicated heroism and we all celebrate at the end. Either that or they go the route of Avatar the Last Airbender (S3) or Buffy the Vampire Slayer (S5) where the characters that don’t want to engage in violence don’t have to get their hands dirty because a deus ex machina comes along and prevents that from having to happen.  In both cases doing the right thing is also a matter of doing the easy thing.

Applegate, by contrast, doesn’t let her characters get away with an uncomplicated happy ending.  She doesn’t say “they were aliens so it’s okay to kill them,” and she doesn’t offer them a third way out of their impossible choice.  She gets into the hell that is war and doesn’t use the sci-fi genre to let her gloss over the dirty details.

Korr: I don’t know about favorite, but I’ve always liked the color red. The sky is nice. Still sometimes a bit weird that Earth’s sky is blue.

Korr: And FOOD! Where do I even start??

Korr: Ice cream. It’s so good, but if you eat it too fast, it hurts your head?? And soda? Carbonation? Who would have thought of  that? And oh my stars, raspberries - I can’t choose!

Mun: I probably won’t answer most asks with this many panels… took me way too long. But it was fun to draw andalites again!

I mean, Humans didn't start right of doing those things Korr. Someone had to invent those ideas. by the way, the 'knifeshoes' are called ice skates. I wouldn't recommend trying it, mainly because it requires a skilled balance I'm sure someone only morphed human wouldn't achieve. Heck, I'm a real human and I enjoy slipping on the ice more than skating on it. By the way, have you tasted human food yet?

Korr: I suppose that makes sense. I have enough trouble tailless and with two hooves - feet - even on solid ground.

Korr: And oh, yes! Human taste buds are really quite marvelous.

Seeing Red: muse sees blood everywhere they look. Bonus points if they’re afraid or disgusted by blood. Lasts a full day.

Murrain: muse is deathly ill. Lasts two days.

Ravenous: muse is constantly starving but cannot be satisfied. Lasts two days.

Loathly: muse is transformed, becoming increasingly more haggard and/or monstrous in appearance. An act of kindness towards them will break the curse.

A New Roommate: an evil spirit possesses my muse’s body. How it behaves is up to the mun. Lasts three days.

Followed: spirits from my muse’s past are following them around. Lasts two days.

Not a Wink: muse can’t sleep no matter how tired they feel. Lasts three days.

The Bell Witch: muse’s home is plagued by relentless poltergeist activity. Lasts two days.

(sorry this one took me a while to get to; I had graduation get in the way. Also, I hate how much shorter humans are than andalites, because it constantly puts Eliza almost out of frame by accident.)
